Growth & Decay

This is a larger version of my DUMBO festival project. It is composed of bricks made from local soil that have been embedded with seeds so that as the rain erodes the bricks they begin to grow. Mudbricks are also a green building material. If you look at old building in New York you can see the brick makers mark stamped into the surface- mine are marked with my initials. Bricks are make from natural soil which is why they vary in color. Upstate New York was a brick making capital, because of it's rich clay.

    • Hi Jessie. Hope you are well. I look forward to seeing the DUMBO version. I actually just finished MICA post-bac & am also in the Paperwork show now. I really like your work. I'll be at the festival building a mandala at 30 Washington street. Will look for you...Allison
