Essentially concept art for the future, NASA’s vision of space exploration was truly epic and as of 2009, sadly unrealized. In the 1970s NASA conducted a few space colony summer studies and ended up designing colonies capable of housing 10,000 people. Artistic renderings of the concepts were created and are now online for your viewing pleasure.
