The Brothers Bloom is a con movie about a pair of grifter siblings, the eldest of whom comes up with the overly elaborate schemes while the younger brother struggles with the moral and emotional consequences of his life. Think Dirty Rotten Scoundrels mixed with The Royal Tenenbaums, and a hefty dose of The Spanish Prisoner.
The older brother Stephen (Mark Ruffalo, Zodiac) can't help but come up with the ridiculous cons that involve character arcs, themes and symbolic imagery, even if it almost bites him in the ass. And he insists upon his younger brother Bloom (Adrian Brody, Angels in the Outfield) that these con games give everyone involved what they want. But younger brother Bloom (who does not get a first name, so obviously it's Bloom Bloom [the man so nice they named him twice]).
