    • I loved hearing NPR's Fresh Air cover this story. What I didn't like was Current's burying of this story as it was developing. I posted news screenshots of the story unfolding as it happened. Current's staff deleted the comments, leaving the public out of the loop. Was this done for Laura's protection? Perhaps, but those of us trying to do 'our jobs' should have been notified.

    • Excellent Interview. After just finishing Laura & Lisa Ling's book, I was psyched to see just a bit more about it all on TV, and Laura did a great job. She's an excellent journalist. And while some may criticize her for putting herself in a position where her safety was jeopardized, I believe that it's what any true journalist would do. She took a risk to expose a story, and unfortunately it didn't work out in her favor. Nonetheless, it did bring light to the issue and many more. She should be commended for her work and not judged. Many others wouldn't have the strength or endurance to make it in such a psychologically and ethically difficult line of work.

    • Laura & Euna are Malinches/Pocahontases/house Negresses. Who's worse: North Korea or US? What's happening right now in Bagram, not to mention Guantanamo, Abu Ghraib? How about their hero Clinton's bombing of civilians and civilian infrastructure and TV journalists in Yugoslavia/Serbia? Hilary is currently trying to kill the Turkey/Brazil deal regarding Iran's low-grade uranium in order to project and express American power and dominance. How about a story from these two "heroines" that would challenge their colonial masters?

Their story is just part of the cheerleading for hawk Hilary to hit N. Korea.

Suffering journalists? How about the ones the US military kill and imprison?

    • What a harrowing experience to relive. The one thing I do hope this brings forth is the humanitarian crisis that was the subject of their original report. Laura Ling is a true journalist, and I thank her for her bravery and for telling her story.

    • i boycotted it because of my extreme dislike of the way current the company has destroyed what used to be great and is now a complete corporate sell out which is the anti-current, proof of which is in the blue/black/white facade covered in ads. sorry laura, it sucks you got pinched for doing your job

    • One of the best episodes yet. I'm very glad that both of them were able to make it home safely and even then, admire the NKorean defectors and their hardships. One can only imagine what must have gone through their minds during those five months. Keep up the great journalism Vanguard. And sincere wishes of happiness for years to come to Lisa and Euna's families.

    • Really humbling to hear from Laura on what her experience was and it was especially poignant as she often rotated the conversation to the North Korean defector's fates. Made me care more about the NK defectors for sure.
