If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
A recent poll asked Americans what superpower they would most want to have. The results revealed that the ability to read minds was at the top of the list along with time travel, while invisibility ranked at the bottom of the list.
If you could have any superpower, what would you choose?

Time travel--tour Library at Alexandria, Globe Theater, pre-Columbian land then known as Turtle Island, now North America, see a dinosaur, hear a world with no machines or people in it, post-war US with dime stores and radio drama. I know about the rule about not messing with events, but I would probably go to the Ambassador Hotel in LA, June 1968, and see what I could do to interfere. Eventually I would probably return to my 1986 self, wear my metal gear to work at Target, listen to Judas Priest, go to every slasher flick at the local theater, buy all the great stuff that went extinct without warning. Would I come back to 2011? Probably not. The technology has passed me by, as it does with every generation, and NOW feels bad and wrong. Sorry to inject gloom into this fanciful thread, but if we were all happy with our lot, we wouldn't need super powers.

I would take the power to manipulate sensual acuity. As in the ability to heighten peoples senses or to diminish or remove them completely. Including the ability to deaden nerves to pain or to subtly manipulate the senses to make an object or person imperceptible. Like invisibility but far far more kick ass. Ok I may have put alot of thought into this one.

i think i would like the power of the Phoenix with it i could
manipulate cosmic energies
transmigrate throughout time
it has mental abilities of cosmic scope, including telepathy and telekinesi
manipulate matter on a sub-atomic level and transmute elements
If the Phoenix is harmed or killed, it will form an "egg" of cosmic power, incubate in the White Hot Room, and hatch out completely healedThe only drawback is it corrupts a person with it's power so i would probably have to become a Republican

Its all a matter of the POWER LEVEL of the superpower,.....with virtually ANY power. "Flight" for instance,....with the maneuverability and speed of a balloon in a gentle spring breeze,....is NOT "Flight" faster than light that can allow you to navigate Alternate universes, and which basically functions as a kinetic shield etc. while traveling.
At "high levels",....I sort of dig GOD class Immortality/Agelessness/Regenerative powers,.....sort of being able to cop the attitude with the entire WORLD of man of
" You idiots carry on with your foolishness,....whatever,....I can afford to wait this out if I have to " sounds good .The Mr. Fantastic flexibility shtick sounds kewl,....but I think thats just my perversion talking. ahem.

Telekinesis is the power that makes all of the other powers possible
if you have Telekinesis, you don't need any other powerWhat's the point in being bullet proof if you can stop the bullet in midair before it ever even gets anywhere close to you?
Why take the time to control what someone else thinks when you can just as easily move their body for them?
What good is the power to fly if you can simply lift yourself up off of the ground?
Why have super-strength when you could easily move any object without ever even touching it? - 2 years ago

there are so many superpowers I would want that it's hard to pinpoint which one to pick but i can tell you which one's I wouldn't want
Toilet Paper Man the amazing ability to shoot endless amounts of toilet paper from his fingertips
Nose Hair Man: can grow nose hair faster than anyone, and seemingly at will.
Fuzzboy Sprouts incredibly soft and plush fuzz, lulling anyone into a false sense of security. Unfortunately, also highly flammable.
Difference boy can tell the difference between margin and butter
Dry girl the ablity to produce sand out of her vaginal cavity (this is more of a girlfriend I wouldn't want)
Hover Man He can't fly he can just hover and float there. About 2 inches off the ground. And it doesn't work over water.
Deja vu Man Can make everyone he meets believe they've been here before but they can't remember when or where?
The Exploder has the ability to explode, which is somewhat useful.. but only once.
Partially Invisible Boy kinda transparent, but clearly visible.
Don't Look at Me Man can go invisible...but only when nobody is looking

[ Arno Strine discovers he can stop time when he is a young man. He works on this power, and learns how to trigger and control these time stoppages. However, instead of becoming rich or a diabolic criminal, Strine becomes an elaborate voyeur. He stops time so that he can see women naked, and eventually creates scenarios that he can watch after he allows time to start again. But despite his enjoyment of this power, Arno wants a real relationship, and he overcomes his shyness to begin a relationship. When he finally consummates this relationship, his power to stop time passes to his girlfriend, whose own time adventures begin. Arno works on the story of this time power, under the title "The Fermata." ]
