Besides limited parking spaces, how else does traffic congestion affect how you navigate your city?
Traffic congestion is a major factor affecting the air quality in urban areas. With the average driver spending up to one year of their lifetime searching for a parking space, it is no surprise that vehicles in Paris emit 2 million tons of Co2 annually. Roughly 30% of all traffic in Paris is the result of cars looking for a parking spot.
How do you deal with traffic congestion?

I'm sure some genius figured it all out on a slide rule, but having four lanes all over Hollywood with parallel parking makes no sense. Change to two wide lanes with turn lanes at the intersections, and nose-in parking and you double the number of spaces, potentially eliminating 30% of all traffic (those looking for parking spaces).

I try to walk, bike or take public transportation during rush hour because that is by far the most congested time of the day.
Parking is a huge problem in NYC and if we have smart grains spots that would be amazing!!

Would you use the texting/ e-mail system that SmartGrains currently uses or come up with another alternative? What other changes would be required to make this efficient in midtown traffic?

When I choose to walk home from work, I try to avoid heavy trafficked streets because it's loud, dirty and smells up the joint. It's also dangerous...

Drive off-hours and drive early in the day. It'll shave 30-40 minutes off a trip, that's saving $4/gal gas money and creating $4/pint beer money.
