What should opponents do now that SOPA has been shelved indefinitely?
SOPA has been shelved indefinitely, but the Senate Protect IP bill is still in play. The Internet has proved to be a powerful force speaking out against SOPA and PIPA. Wikipedia, Reddit and other sites still plan to go dark on Wednesday to protest the proposals, which legislators had tried to push through before the public outcry began.
The current.com community has been tracking updates on SOPA and PIPA. Should the Internet make an effort to keep pressure on Congress in anticipation of future moves like this? With sites like Reddit becoming activist in nature, what other causes could this activism be channeled toward?
Edit: As of Tuesday afternoon, TechCrunch is reporting that SOPA is not, in fact, shelved indefinitely but according to remarks from Rep. Lamar Smith, expected to resume in February.
Tune into "The Young Turks" tonight at 7/6c to hear Reddit general manager Erik Martin talk about SOPA/PIPA. "The Young Turks" re-airs at 10/9c.

Were it not for the O.W.C. and the 99% movements, I wonder if we would have seen the N.D.A.A. or SOPA and PIPA at all? This may well be the response from the corporations (who we all know direct the politicians as they do any other employees) to what the O.W.C. and the 99% represent. Has this new form of person declared war on the other form of person? If you declare war on someone, one of the best things you can do, is take away the enemies best weapon. In this case, that weapon is the ability to freely communicate with each other. This is what SOPA and PIPA would seek to do. Then threaten them with ongoing physical harm. This is what the N.D.A.A. can be used for. It would seem that legally making corporations people has created a new kind of racism. Not one based on religion, ethnicity or the color of ones skin, but based on whether you have skin at all. And this new form of person has all the power, and apparently, no ethics, compassion, spirituality or morals whatsoever. They have been given immortality through "to big to fail", and are not subjected to the same laws as their fellow persons. You would be hard pressed to find a court that would make animals persons, and they have D.N.A. and heart beats. Corporations as persons, seem bent on enslaving humans as persons. I suppose one person enslaving another person is a story as old as time itself, but these corporate persons are only two years old. What will they be like in their adolescence?

Focus on doing the same to PIPA. After that, publicly shame every single politician bought to push both bills right the hell out of office.

Defeat PIPA and be vigilant for them to be reborn under other names. These bills never really die. We need to be one step ahead now and continue to be heard.

I think the big internet sites, like google and wikipedia should go to each senator and representative websites, and the websites of all the candidates - look for things on those sites which would violate the proposed legislation and put up a list.

Getting rid of the NDAA immediately, if not sooner. If Obama won't do it, then we must get rid of him. This is the gutting of the Bill of Rights!!!
