What are the real consequences of an extended GOP primary?

On Salon, David Sirota writes about the dangers of an extended Republican primary. Rather than exposing the outrageousness of the candidate's views, Sirota fears that the primary shifts discourse to the right and gives credibility to outlandish ideas.
