What can we learn from Mitt Romney's past tax returns?
President Obama has called on Mitt Romney to release his past tax returns, saying presidential candidates need to be "as transparent as possible," the Associated Press reports.
Romney released his 2010 tax returns to the public, but sought a six-month extension last Friday on filing his 2011 tax returns. The Romney campaign says the extension is necessary because several companies Romney has invested in have not yet reported their earnings -- making it impossible for him to calculate his income.
President Obama and Vice President Joe Biden both released their 2011 tax returns last Friday and the Obama campaign has released tax information going back to 2000.
What can we learn from Mitt Romney's past tax returns? Is the six-month extension on his 2011 taxes a political move?

That he is obviously out of touch with a majority of Americans.
I can have a accurate perception of what it is to be rich, but the rich cannot perceive what it means to be poor.

We can learn that he is a wholey owned subsidiary of the corporate/Wall street world. This is your BFD? How about something on Occupy? May day is coming, and Current now seems to be ignoring Occupy just like the major news outlets it is trying to compete with. Keith O may have been a pain in the @ss to work with, but he knew an important story when he saw one.

We can see what he actually earned from the fruit of his labor and intellect and what was earned solely through Capital Gains, tax write-offs, and interest. We may learn to tie where money is kept, (offshore accounts), to nationalism and draw the supposition that those who do not keep their money in America and hide it in Swiss or Caymen accounts, is unpatriotic and the perfect example of how the rich can afford to do unseemly things to avoid taxes while honest, low-wage workers are not afforded, (nor would they even consider), betraying their country by not paying their fare share. Moreover, it is an example of how the Estate Tax needs to me retooled to ensure that most money is earned by the persons who have it and not simply inherited and "Capital Gained" into the elite. If the Estate Tax (death tax) is not retooled spoiled little rich kids will, in fact, continue to receive "welfare" through tax breaks, thereby diminishing the stubborn, vigorous work ethic which has made this country so great.
