Will protests outside the RNC stay peaceful?

The Republican National Convention has kicked off in Tampa, and despite the bad weather, protesters have gathered outside the convention. Groups include anti-war protesters Code Pink and a loosely organized Occupy march.

So far the protests have remained peaceful; will the they continue to remain peaceful? Will the police allow protesters to remain?

    • Heck, anybody in their right mind knows damn well not to protest a Teabagging Republican event in Florida.
      Everybody knows that there is, far too many George/Judge Zimmermans wondering around Florida to protest.
      I really think that many of the protesters at the DNC are paid employees of Mitt Romney, and the GOP. This is a very old tactic or theirs. They are desperate at this point, and will do any/everything to win. Just like Karl Rove said, he is willing to do anything, leaving nothing off the table.

    • What is the agenda of the anarchists? They absolutely make no sense at all, jus about the same as the occupy movement. They cannot even define the meaning of the word. What's with covering their faces? Are they ashamed of what they are doing? They obviously don't want anyone to recognize them. Wow!

Are you kidding me? He resigned in total disgrace the Governorship of NY and you want anyone to really take him seriously? C'mon! Where are your facts on anything your say is a lie? You all are supposed to be professional journalists. You give journalism no credibility at all. You need to state the facts. NY Times? are you kidding me again? They are so biased it's damn scary. Your ratings are in the ditch. to get them out of the ditch you must report verifiable facts. Tell us what the Obam pan is. So far, it's been almost 4 years and he can't even get a budget past by his own Senate. They voted the last one down 98 to 2. Obama is a abject failure and I am so disapointed that it makes me sick. I actually gave him a chance and he let me down. In fact he has let us all down.

    • Only if the police want the protests to stay peaceful. Every violent protest I've seen in the past 50 years has been started by police stupidity and violence.

    • It depends. If the protesters are conservatives, the police will protect them and things will stay peaceful. If the protesters are liberals, the police will attack them and violence will ensue.
