Now those are some badass piercings. When I was living in Granada the ‘Monroe’ (as in Marilyn Monroe) piercing, often pink, purple, or some other bright color, was very popular, but just the one, as opposed to multiple facial piercings that appear to be popular in Barcelona. I always thought that if I had this piercing I would fiddle with it with my tongue until I wore a hole in my lip, so obviously I plan on never ever getting that.
I could be wrong, but piercing your tongue seems like a very painful process. I practically tear up when I bite my own; sticking a needle through it seems…less than fun. Also, maybe it’s just me (and hopefully not), but I have this weird desire to stick my fingers through someone’s gauged ears like the gentleman’s in this video, although I think they would be less than thrilled if I did that, as most people don’t like to be oogled and poked.
So, watch the video and check out the cool piercings, oogling safely from your computer screen.

Irony of ironies, even though biting your tongue hurts a lot, getting your tongue pierced does not. Standard caveats apply, of course: your piercer has to know what he/she is doing, and it helps if you're relaxed.

Your nose is kind of the same way. It always hurts when you scratch your nose, or get a zit on your nose, but when I got mine pierced, it just felt like a strong tugging and then there was no pain. It's my favorite piercing of mine to date.

Interesting! The only non-earlobe piercing I've gotten is my tragus, and it's been a while, so I don't remember if it was very painful.
otenkiya, I think you're right, the skill of the piercer probably has a lot to do with one's experience and the amount of pain one feels.
