    • This is so meta, it's a post on a news site about a twitter announcement for a chat program coinciding with the digital media news program on the site announcing it.

if only someone would twitt this posting to make it even more absurd. that said, i endorse this venture.

Maybe it's very "un-meta" of me, but I have no idea what "this is so meta" means, and I don't think I want to. It's like "Emo" being the new word for goth. Sometimes you kids just confuse me (and I'm only 30).

There isn't really an "un-meta" so don't worry. Meta is a common term dropped around new-media regarding what could only be described as a painting in a painting in a painting(etc). It's something that is an abstraction of another idea which is to say an outlet for new media using another outlet to promote itself.

Meta is also considered something that is self referential(Normal Rockwell's perennial classic self portrait) so the upload on Current of a twitter announcement promoting an event on Current is quintessential "Meta".

Hopefully you understand better but it is probably as clear as mud.
