Adrian, I wanted to ask you and the Current crew more about censorship on the island.
Did you guys run into difficulties in trying to film the episode? What things made it difficult? How did you guys manage?
I am also aware that the crew tried to get an interview with Yoani Sanchez, but was unable to secure one. what types of difficulties prevented you from securing an interview with her? Or her fellow bloggers?
How hard was it to try to secure contacts with dissident writers, authors, leaders, or bloggers on the island? Any word of Oswaldo Paya's Varela project that was clamped down in 2003?
I am very happy a piece was done on Cuba, but I would have loved to have seen more interaction with these types of people. What prevented you guys from doing this?

I know it's supposed to be Q& A but just wanted to say .
Ouch!!!
I noticed a lot of dissapointment in the comments. I won't say that it was a Vanguard "grade" piece, but I sorta understand and I appreciate to get at least a glance, even if it was one side of the coin. I guess many viewers were waiting for more. Thank you for not overwhelmig the interviewees. - 2 years ago

The story is done well, but does he really think that we should be striving to make cuba more 'American'. His friend wants to buy his 'dream house' - who can afford that here? What a weird thing to covet in a place with so much economic disparity. Why doesnt he just buy his dream house here. Having a rich guy in the neighborhood does not mean liberation for those who have none. That will just further stratify the classes.
At least they have the opportunity to get to visit a doctor or go to school, I can't even get healthcare in this country. I will never be able to afford any education in America. I love how he comment on how the kids have to 'recite socialist slogans' - we have no kid left behind which just have kids getting skilled at testing - nothing else.
I have been trying to get a job for months and I still can't even get a job at Subway sandwich. I havent worked for over 10 months, dont qualify for unemployment - so affording a car or even a meal are beyond my means.
Oh yeah, you comment in the short about how the government keeps track of every citizen in Cuba - Hello - PATRIOT ACT!?
This filmmaker is disconnected with how many people live in the US you can't expect him to get it right anywhere else. Have you found any dream houses you want in Haiti or Jamaica - land is cheap there too. - 2 years ago

Marco_Arias:
i agree with your comments. why does the american way of life have to be pushed or has to be the Type A model for goverments around the world? it is a consumerist culture, with a huge disparity of the haves and have nots. nobody can afford their dream home, unless you're in the 2% bracket of wealthy americans. journalist adrian was completely biased in his american lens of how he views cuba.

All that prose about Cuba revolution & not one said counter revolution. It is good to use correct words. I'm sure it'll be the same people asking good questions of Adrian.
