HuffPo Names Mariana 'Greatest Person of the Day'
We've known for many years all about the greatness of "Vanguard" correspondent Mariana van Zeller, but today The Huffington Post saw fit to declare her its "Greatest Person of the Day."

The site says van Zeller's selection is part of its month-long series featuring Greatest Women of the Day, in recognition of Women's History Month. The profile starts with Mariana sharing her earliest inspirations and deciding to become a journalist at the age of 12.
"I would watch all these women with all this incredible knowledge of the world," she tells HuffPo. Now, she's a Peabody Award-winning correspondent using her platform on Current TV to give voice to the "underdogs" all over the world.
Read the full post here as Mariana talks about reactions to the Peabody-winning "Oxycontin Express" and how her job on the air is impacted by being a woman.

As a professional journalist Mariana would have a hard time publicly scorning an "award' from a publicity seeking vampire like Arianna Huffington.
Too bad. In a more perfect world she might be less trussed and bound by the nature of the media beast we suffer from now.
I look forward to hearing Mariana's real thoughts on this one day. - 1 year ago

I think she's a good journalist but really don't see AOL Huffington Post as a site to care about.

Disliking the Huffington Post means you're off your rocker. Yes.
My negative score only means you have a large following; it doesn't make your opinion a sound one!
