The $2.5 Trillion Tragedy: What America Has Given Up For 10 Years Of Bush Tax Cuts !
Submitted by kennymotown

This week marks the 10th anniversary of Bush's 2001 tax cuts. The cost of Bush's 2001 and 2003 tax cuts is estimated at roughly $2.5 trillion through 2010. So what else could we have done with that money?

The tradeoffs paint a stark picture. For the same price as the Bush tax cuts, which did little to help the economy, we could’ve sent tens of millions of students to college, retrofitted every household in America with the capacity to generate alternative energy, hired millions of firefighters and police officers, effectively ended our national shame of having kids who lack health care coverage, or put millions of more teachers into classrooms. But instead, Congress passed budget-breaking tax cuts, and then went on to pass even more in 2003. In 2010, Congress then went on to renew the Bush tax cuts for an additional two years, and the political will for the sort of public investments listed above appears to have dried up.

Chicago Millionaire Pays His Way Out of Jail Time in Deadly Hit and Run
Submitted by treewolf39

A Chicago millionaire has managed to avoid a jail sentance after killing two British tourists with his Porsche.

A millionaire from Chicago has managed to buy his way out of jail despite being found guilty of killing two British citizens in a hit-and-run accident in Florida. Thirty-six-year-old Ryan Levin faced up to 30 years in jail for two counts of vehicular homicide and fleeing an accident scene. Levin, who drove a $120,000 Porsche, initially denied involvement in the accident. He avoided a jail sentence by paying an undisclosed settlement to the widows of his victims. Instead of jail he was sentenced to two years house arrest, 10 years probation. This was not Levin’s first offense. In 2006 he ran over a Chicago police officer. He could still be extradited to Illinois for violating his parole.

Battle of the Imbeciles: Bachmann vs. Palin
Submitted by onemalefla

With the 2012 election season beginning to heat up, Michelle Bachmann and Sarah Palin's presidential hopes could be on a collision course.

The coming confrontation is being driven by a belief in Bachmann’s camp that the same grassroots, conservative primary voters and caucus-goers may have to choose between the two women—and that they will choose Bachmann if she presents herself as a more seasoned, reliable, and serious conservative than her high-profile rival. The apparent effort to draw distinctions broke into the open Tuesday when her new top strategist, Ed Rollins, dismissed Palin as “not serious” in a radio interview.

    • Would you believe ?...In the Eisenhaur/Kennedy years when the tax
codes were equitable in that they benefited the average taxpayer,
only the male had to work to support his family. He'd be home in the
middle of the PM, and have time to spend with them. They were even
projecting that the average worker was doing so well they envisioned
in the not too distant future, work weeks would be lessened from 40
hours to nearly half that to produce the same standard of living. The
1961 speech Eisenhaur gave to warn people about the behemouth
military industrial complex as heard but not heeded. When JFK issued
his Executive Order 11100 in Spring 1963, it was an inmortant step
in preventing the USA from accumulating a Bankster imposed Federal
Reserve System national debt. 10 days after JFK unwisely announced
his intent to expose them, he was Mudered. His Exec Order was ignored,
and the long slippery slope to the abyss was created, where the top
1% investing in the M.I.C. corrupted the subsequent Congresses to
serve their interests to the detriment of the entire USA.

48 years later the History channel airs documentaries about The
Crumbling of America, where our infrastructure has been so badly
neglected since Nixon, Reagan, the Bushes plaqued the USA with
cutting the uberrich' taxes on the backs of Americans. The top 1%
also control the stocks of the major Corporations which have with
the same treachery exported 1/3 of the industrial base & jobs to
Asia. It's no secret whom Reagan & the Bushes sought to serve.
$2.3 Trillion " missing from the DoD accounts before 9/11, the
Trillions of funds used to bail out the Banksters gambling debts
which profited them hugely, the $2.5 Trillion of tax $$ stollen from
the American taxpayers to serve the top 1% of the food chain.

You should Google up the speech that Lincoln spoke to debate
Douglas in 1859. He denounced Slavery against blacks because
he knew where it was heading, adding that foreign immigrants,
the poor would be next to be enslaved. He didn't have to spell
it out HOW they'd get to be poor. You can read between the lines.
Lincoln denounced Douglas idea: " the USA should be the terror
of the world's nations." Sound familiar ? He denounced the idea
that there should be 2 classes of people: " The ones that produce
the bread(money), and the ones who consume the bread " As
with Andrew Jackson's speech denouncing the 2nd Corporate
Bank of the U.S.Govt.(the Fed prototype) as casino gambling
with the workproduct & fortunes of 18 Million honest Americans,
and Eisenhaur's speech denouncing the M.I.C., Lincoln's speech
was considered " electrifying " We're seeing the evil effects of
the Fed, the M.I.C., their uberrich investors exsanguinate the USA
like some parasitical monstrosity that Americans are enlaved to.
They're talking in D.C about raising the debt limit to keep this
extremely corrupt imbalanced system going without a clue as to
how it got that way. And no talk of reform. Once they do, their
fueling the national debt JFK sought to eliminate, will only produce
yet another debt crisis which the Banksters will manipulate them
to control on the backs of eliminating the return of Americans'
tax dollars back to them to benefit them. Yet Nobama talks of
" prosperity " returning the american dream.

    • "[Current's] audience is comprised of affluent, curious, social and connected adults...."

Rats! I'm not "affluent," so I guess I'm not wanted here. Too bad, I was looking forward to watching Olbermann.

Hi, nylefty; when I read that about Current's audience being affluent, I thought the very same thing. Current isn't on Dish Network's basic service either, so I should have realized sooner that they're not interested in reaching everyone. Looks like Current and I are totally irrelevant to each other.
