One in Four California Families Can't Afford Food for Their Kids added by Schnookums

A new report from the Food Research and Action Center, one in four California households are having difficulties feeding their children.

“It sends a clear signal of economic distress, particularly for families with children,” noted James Weill, president of FRAC. “The answers to the question reveal there are times that these families are going without eating a meal, or the parents are skipping a meal for their children, or children are skipping meals.”

California had the second highest number of metropolitan areas with rates of food hardship in households with children in 2009-2010, according to the report.

An innocent polar bear was accidentally shot to death by a BP security guard. This incident marks the first time this engaged species had been killed during a hazing operation.

U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service spokesman Bruce Woods said in an interview, the guard tried to "haze," or scare away the bear, but ended up shooting it.

"As far as during authorized hazing operations, there has not been a polar bear mortality, although of course anyone can kill a bear to protect a human life," Woods said.

Every girl dreams of the day of when she can walk into a bridal store and find the wedding dress of her dreams. However, when New Jersey native Alix Genter went shopping to find her perfect dress she was refused service for being gay.

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, the manager went on to tell Genter that, "there's right, and there's wrong. And this is wrong."
