Obama set to make compromise on contraception plan

President Barack Obama announced that he has found a solution for health insurance coverage of contraceptives that would ensure and protect religious liberty. The compromise seeks to support religious organizations outraged by a new rule that would have required them to offer free contraceptive coverage.
"Religious liberty will be protected and a law that requires free preventative care will not discriminate against women," Obama said in an appearance in the White House briefing room.
"I understand some folks in Washington want to treat this as another political wedge issue. But it shouldn't be. I certainly never saw it that way," Obama said. "This is an issue where people of good will on both sides of the debate have been sorting through some very complicated questions."
"Religious organizations won't have to pay for these services," Obama told reporters in the White House briefing room. "But women who work at these institutions will have access to free contraceptive services."
The community shares its opinion on Obama declaring the birth control policy:
Saladin: "Tell you what, you can deny people healthcare on religious grounds the same day you start paying taxes."
northernexpat: "What is sad is that the only one willing to compromise is the President. The Catholic Bishops are starting to sound like the GOP. They all keep saying it is my way or the highway. Nothing will ever get done if you are not willing to compromise. Compromise in not a dirty word -- it is how things get done. You compromise everyday -- be it with your spouse, your children or your employer, etc., otherwise you are living in a autocratic society."
Incredulous: "Geez, even J.C. Penney has more balls than the Obama administration....they told the right-wing nut jobs where to step off when they whined and stomped their feet trying to remove Ellen DeGeneres....but not the Obama administration. Is there anything the Obama administration won't compromise on? How about some balls Mr. President? That would be a nice CHANGE!"
