Breaking News: Angela Corey Decides To Not Use Grand Jury In Trayvon Martin Case

Submitted by letsliveinpeace

State Attorney Angela Corey, appointed to investigate the killing of Trayvon Martin, decided that the case will not convene a grand jury. Her office alone will decide whether to charge shooter George Zimmerman with a crime. Corey's decision also means eliminating the possibility of a first-degree murder charge.

Corey took over the case last month after the prosecutor who normally handles cases out of Sanford recused himself. That prosecutor, Norm Wolfinger, had originally called for the case to be presented before a grand jury.

"From the moment she was assigned, Ms. Corey noted she may not need a grand jury," said a statement from Corey's office.

An attorney for Martin's parents said in a statement that he is not surprised by the decision to avoid the grand jury and hopes a decision is reached soon.

"The family has been patient throughout this process and asks that those who support them do the same during this very important investigation," said attorney Benjamin Crump.

    • This is designed to keep this whole decision making process out of the public eye. That doesn't bode well for justice.

    • Angela can pick a date for an arrest NOW or a riot later. One would think a officer of the court would not wish to propagate more crimes.

What exactly are you looking for? Trayvon Martin died in February and there as yet to be a simple arrest. Where exactly is the RUSH to justice?

Zimmerman followed Trayvon, by his own admission. How did he need to "defend" himself against an unarmed teen walking AWAY from him on a public sidewalk? These are the facts we know for sure. This alone should be enough for an arrest and trial. No needs the media to see there is a miscarriage of justice or a simple lack there of, to this point.
