Semi-automatic rifles selling fast at Wal-Mart
After President Obama's endorsement of gun restrictions in the wake of the school shootings in Newtown, Conn., prices for handgun magazines are increasing and semi-automatic rifles are sold out at many Wal-Mart stores. We're taking a closer look at this interesting story from the Current community. Check it out and add your two cents:

Semi-Automatic Rifles Selling Fast at Walmart
Submitted by coolplanet
Wal-Mart, the world’s largest retailer, said its stores will continue to sell guns, including rifles like the one used at Sandy Hook Elementary School.
Even though Wal-Mart doesn't sell guns online, its website shows five kinds of semi-automatic rifles already out of stock in five states.
"We remain dedicated to the safe and responsible sale of firearms in areas of the country where they are sold," David Tovar, a spokesman for Wal-Mart, said yesterday.
On the contrary, Dick's Sporting Goods has already suspended sales of similiar guns.
What will it take to end gun violence? Jennifer Granholm and Mark Glaze, director of Mayors Against Illegal Guns, a bipartisan coalition that has been pushing for gun safety laws, talk about what it’s going to take to curb gun violence in the U.S.
The community responds:
coolplanet: "Take your 'War on Christmas' and stick it where the sun don't shine."
alexandrekBack: "How can you control guns when a Wall mart can sell it...insanity."
tverdell: "They are trying to have an open carry protest the first week in January. Don't be surprised to see people packing heat at the grocery store."

There were many discussion over
Guns but above all I don't recognize that common people carry guns for their safety as sometimes this could be dangerous as most of us are short tempered and due to mental pressure and depression accidents could be happen. And if these firearms used by destructive people then who will be responsible for that and if we allow this rule then it makes easy for destructive minds to stole and use it for destructive works. I completely not agreed with your suggestion for having guns for safety purpose by common people. - 2 months ago

Perhaps I'm missing the context, but how does Coolplanet's comment, "Take your 'War on Christmas' and stick it where the sun don't shine." apply to Walmart selling semi-automatic rifles at a fairly fast rate after a horrible school shooting?
