This is such an important issue that often goes undiscussed. With the super-hype media machine twisting and tweaking every possible angle of high-profile cases like Meredith Kercher's murder or Madeleine McCann's disappearance, how can anybody expect a fair trial? There are "two prerequisites of a just legal process: an unbiased police inquiry and the presentation of untainted evidence in court." How do we balance the public right to know with the rights to fair trial? Do you think the media should be held accountable in some way?
