Note: There was so little public attention and notice to the need for a ban on marijuana, or the resulting legislation (Marihuana Tax Act of 1937), that the editors apparently did not realize that it had already been outlawed when they published this article.
AMERICAN farmers are promised a new cash crop with an annual value of several hundred million dollars, all because a machine has been invented which solves a problem more than 6,000 years old. It is hemp, a crop that will not compete with other American products.

We need to keep hammering home the fact that hemp is potentially our planet's saviour if we only would legalize it and build many different industries around it. That one can get pleasantly high on it should not be an objection, especially as, unlike alcohol, it does not lead to violent, aggressive and destructive behaviour but tends to keep young ones peacefully and often creatively at home.

Someone mentioned in this threat that Hemp is a really good form of fuel. It makes you wonder about why it is illegal.... It grows anywhere, it grows fast, requires little attention, and can be used to make 25,000 products as well as a protein source?

This site gives a great lowdown on the many uses of hemp from food and paper right through to clothing and textiles...so many uses as well as sustainable...Why aren't we using it already?
