EveryBlock

My pals Adrian and Wilson just launched EveryBlock, a hyperlocal database of news about your neighborhood, including a lot of interesting nitty-gritty civic stuff (crime reports, restaurant inspections, etc.) that you can't usually get your hands on very easily.

Very cool, clean design, and loads of data. Try plugging in your address (if you live in San Francisco, New York, or Chicago, for now) and see what you find!
