Democracy Now is the only news organization in the world to cover the Winter Soldier testimony last weekend. Winter Soldiers, are brave men and women who break their ranks to tell the truth about war, about their actions and the actions of the men and women that work with them. This is probably the only accurate account of the Iraq war available in the United States right now. It is available in several different formats and all are free.-

For those of you that are summery people, the most striking image that haunts me from these testimonials, was delivered by several veterans. They spoke about orders to destroy all taxi cabs because some taxi cabs were allegedly used by IED bombers. Imagine every taxi cab in your town being targeted because a few bad people are in them. Really think about it. Is that a responsible strategy? This is just the tip of the iceberg. There are literally 1 million more stories out there.

No matter which news outlets were covering this, it just isn't enough. As graphic as these descriptions are, I feel that Current tv should run them as a series and let people hear it straight from the soldier's and local's mouths. Please?

Don't forget the guys at RealNews They covered it too.
The news media won't ignore it when one of the Winter Soldiers runs for president and the Republicans accuse her/him of treason for speaking out against the war... sound familiar?

It was completely under covered by news organizations, but Democracy Now wasn't the only one there. Don't push falsities because I do know that the Boston Globe was there.

Here is a great op-ed piece about why the Winter Soldier story was ignored by large corporate media.

Democracy Now covered these testimonies all week. They are all available online. I just finished listening to Monday's and Tuesday's and I am stunned. No one in the anti-war community can speak with authority until they hear these soldiers tell the truth.
These need to be broadcast an all networks, right now. Demand that they are. Write the news networks now!

What can I say? This is horrible. And something every American should see.
I am so sorry that our young people have been forced to do such things. These troops have been patriots who harbored high ideals in love of country, but whose spirits are mortally wounded after forcing themselves to conform to the expected.
Where are the major news networks? How much knowledge of the Winter Soldier do the presidential candidates have? "Collateral damage" gains a more significant place in my mind.
God help us.
