Sex contracts proposed in Australia

Image
BenDorries
An independent MP in Australia has proposed that women should have to sign a contract to engage in sexual intercourse with a man. The idea is aimed at helping stop cases of rape as well as false accusations of rape. The contract would require women to sign, state her name, driver's license number and address; as well as stating that the woman hasn't been drinking or taken any illicit drugs.

What a great way to kill the mood!

    • Great idea. The number of false rape allegations is growing and many innocent men are abused by the justice system. This is a divorce and child custody tool of choice. Something must be done.

    • ("coital notaries, "condom/contract kits", "we don't get anything until you get some or give some".....i'm dying over here)

But on a "serious" note: Flyers, Ad's, Pamphlets...........think about it........NO MORE social interaction or awkward opening small talk conversations (since society and technology have already begun completely diluting, dehumanizing and deconstructing the general bio-intergradational, person to person experience/existence) Simply hand your card or advertisement (contract included) out to whomever you wish, maybe accompanied by a scannable ID/Varification card with basic contact/medical info and legalities on it (possible encompassed on a new for of driver's license or something) and then you filter your responses via email, telephone or snail-mail.........

      Further more: Some Notes
      -Communism works on paper too
-It's all fun and games till someone losses and eye in a legally bindin contract

    • Sex contracts? Not so sure if that's the best idea. Business and money already permeate most facets of our society...I don't think it needs to get into the bedroom as well.

Sex should be intimate and for many, spontaneous. Can you imagine,

"Mm, baby, I'm so hot right now!"

"Wait, wait, wait! Don't put it in yet!
      Sign this!"

    • Wow, now we can really sell our souls!
The whole "cut down on rape victims" is completely bogus. Do they honestly think that a rapist will give a damn about a contract? The logic that goes behind such ideas is just-ugh.

    • Ominous and dangerous this kind of legislation would be, it could lead to a corporate takeover of reproductive rights from most "civilized" human beings. Read Aldous Huxley's "Brave New World" set several hundred years in the future but written in 1933. It paints a picture of a future world where corporations own patents on the entire human genome and they control all reproduction. No one gives birth the old fashioned way and in fact calling someone a mother or a father is the greatest most detestable insult you can imagine.

    • More legislative, life out of balance, loopholes to keep the sexes inequal. It's kinda like saying, "We need to protect the men that cheat and lie to get in bed with a woman who, once finding out they've been duped, can't teach these obvious bastards a lesson."
Way to go, OZ. Marching backwards for men's sake.

    • Do you really want the government in our bedrooms? Once we submit to contracts, private industry and government can track our sexual partners. Once this "human" behavior is tracked, it can be monitored and controlled. Do you understand where this is heading, and why?

    • This is the most ridiculous law I have ever heard of. Why is it the responsibility of the woman to be subjugated by contractual sexuality? This makes no sense. Where is the responsibility of the man? This law assumes that women are the tempters of men, men cannot control themselves because they are falsely accused of rape. What a bunch of hogwash.

    • the problem at hand here is not rape. it's a matter of guys not being about to keep in their pants.
the uncanny incapability to curve the natural hormones and sexual drive has destroyed the reputation of men. but it is men that has done this. women just exposed us. not saying that it is wrong that it is know. it should be. but you would think that men would have some self respect and would think twice before he sleeps around.

    • Wouldn't it be invalid if it was signed while both parties were drunk or high? Which is when alot of casual sex happens anyhow?

And would the underage boys in the catholic church be legally allowed to sign it for their preist?

    • the fact that it was on a show simply illustrates the lawmaker's ingenuity - only the true visionaries among us are able to find real-life inspiration from such seemingly non-serious sources....

    • Whatever. she stole this from Dave Chappelle who fully illustrated the concept of the Love Contract in Season 2, Episode 4 (you know, the "Rick James" episode):

"The Love Contract: A small bit that plays at the beginning episode - this sketch is a satire of the Kobe Bryant incident and how it could have been avoided with 'The Love Contract' as your partner signs it confirming consent."

    • Most people find it hard to take 10 seconds to put on a condom.. I highly doubt they'll take 10 minutes to sign a contract

    • benzzy- that could be prevented by requiring that the contract be authorized and the act witnessed by a special "coital notary". Imagine the scores of wildly titillating jobs this legislation could produce....

    • i think this is actually a dumb idea.. how can you be sure that the woman isn't being forced to sign this contract? the rapist could FORCE her to sign the contract, just like he's forcing her to open up her knees.. there is no way to guarantee the contract is being signed by the woman.. so, unless they solve that little issue, this whole "contract" business is just lame....

    • Maybe for those who demand the abstinence only education, perhaps they could opt out for the anti-trust only section?

    • this is a wonderful opportunity for children to learn about the legal system, as sex ed classes will now have to include a brief introduction to contract law

    • If you don't use a contract then the same thing happens when you don't use a condom, you leave yourself open to all kinds of lawsuits and criminal prosecution.

If you don't use either then you're open to child support, being sued for giving a STD in addition to the rape charges.

Maybe they should have the same kinds of commercials for contracts as they do for condoms since both give protection. Like the have the slogan, "No Love without the Glove", they should have on "No getting in the Sack without a Contract"

How about a spokesman like they have the "Trojan Man" for condoms, they could have "Lawyer Man" for the contracts.

    • Sounds like the palimony version of a pre-nup. I would think that gals would want it more than guys since they have more to lose.

It would certainly cut down on the casual sex and 1 night stands but it also severely damages the trust and intimacy. And as several others have mentioned it certainly kills the spontenatity and the mood.

If you're that cautious about the consequences that you'd need a contract then maybe rethinking the whole idea of who you're having sex with in the first place is a better idea.

    • and what if you made her/him sign the contract, and your idea of sex involved a chicken, a clarinet, and duct tape.....and you said OOHH HELL NAW!! and the chick says naw uhh!! i got a contract buddy!!!! now bend over and take this chicken!!!! i mean, you kinda have to do it, or get sued. breaking a contract that you legally approved of, is breaking a tort law. and since im in law school, im thinking its a DAMN GOOD IDEA!!!!!

ill be a trillionaire! think of my adds..

did you think you were going to have sex one nite, and your partner decided to back out?

did your partner dissagree with the usage of poultry during sex?

did your rectum hurt like a mickey fickey?!

well call the law offices of beg, bag, and screw! we will get all the money you deserve for your non sexual committment contract, or being injured in an unauthorized sexual mishap resulting from negligence.

      we will fight for you!

and we dont collect until you either get some, or give some!!

      CHA-CHING!!!!!

    • They had something good in mind but, come on that would definitely kill the mood by the time you signed it.
I believe it's something you can't control no matter what.
I'm sure some people would say "you don't trust me?" With all those diseases out there, I'm sure this contract wouldn't last long or someone might be sued for anything they forgot to put down on the paper. Oops! I did it again... lol

    • well im all for it. but say you have two chick, but only one is the main chick you wanted to bag....is one a contract, and the other a subcontract?

if the dude is done, but the two chicks keep going, without a contract, and seem to be having more fun without you, is that a breach of any kind? is there free agency? if your boy works out a deal for you...is that like collective bargaining? do you need to inspect ID's references? if they were drinking, but marked that they wernt, doesnt that null the contract? because they were intoxicated!!?

im not sure if i want to check references though...could be a bad idea...hey bro..how was she? man she was great!! that might scare me!

what if the contract says...do you attest that you do not have Herpes, Syphillis, etc... and then you find out she does......can you sue for breach and seek damages? i mean nothing can really make you feel better if you caught herpes..i would assume!

    • How do you prove that the document wasn't created under coercive conditions? That would only worsen a rape victim's sense of hopelessness-knowing that not only were they raped, but that they also signed a contract for it! That would be most unfortunate. It's an interesting idea, but I wonder how they would safeguard against such incidents.

    • I genuinely thought that this was going to be a contract engaging minimum services, so something along the lines of "I X hereby promise to engage in full coitus with X a minimum duration of 7 minutes, 5 times a week".

But then that would kill the mood too... and what of the issue of overtime? And how would under performance be penalised?

Anyway, it was a much darker story than that so I'll pop along now...
