We aren't even talking about Tibet anymore.
The Chinese people need help too.. The Government is in control of this seemingly out of control situation. Don't piss on China as a whole. Piss on their policy.

No LE, but it doesn't put multiple countries in worse situations than previously, it generally doesn't break our budget and put us in a closing depression. The USA has spent more day to day and in total total than that of WW2. 4000 dead.. hahaha thats not shit in comparison to how many civilians we've killed over there. If you only knew how most of our troops died, you'd poop yourself. GW is a terrible business person and a worse leader. Its been proven over and over again. From his youth all the way up until now. What else do you need? No one is condemning this country. This country is condemning them!

No Dirty_mojo, they didn't lie, they had faulty intel. They had faulty intel that the majority of your liberal senators bought as well, HOOK, LINE, and SINKER. The Iraq invasion WAS approved by congress, stop trying to hang GWB alone out to dry and we can all be friends. I personally don't think that invading Iraq/ removing hussein was a mistake, I just think mistakes have been made since the invasion. I'm also NOT willing to condemn the President OR my country over it. Could things have been handled better? Yes, absolutely they could have. Could things have been handled worse? Yes, they could have been handled worse as well. When you break the situation down to it's simplest form it is STILL one of the most successful campaigns in the history of the world as far as the measure of casualties (I'm not discounting the value of a soldiers life). Taking them down went off without a hitch, the exit strategy on the other hand, quite frankly, sucked ass. Don't shit on the 4000 that have paid the ultimate price, no war in history has gone down EXACTLY as planned.

no, but you cant just go blasting your guns to fix the world's wrongs. personally, i'd love to see tibet as an independent nation, and if that could be done with force, depending on the circumstances, i would be willing to go over there for that.
oh, and the reason proponents of the iraq war get "spit in the face" and because they didn't do it the way anyone should invision it: THEY LIED!!
also, we are under the delusion that iraq can survive itself as one single nation. i can't speak for everyone else, but terms like "freed" and "independent" seem plain as day to me. - 5 years ago

Soooo, what you're saying is that pointless temper tantrums, bitching, and moaning (with NO real punitive treatment of China) haven't done jack s**t for 50 years and you're content with the status quo?

It disturbs me to see liberals rise up in protest for the sake of Tibet out of 1 side of their face while at the same time cursing the POTUS for removing Saddam Hussein and ending his tyranical/ murderous reign over the people of Iraq. Husseins removal was the right thing to do, just like I agree that China's reign over Tibet is wrong. I just don't see how you people can be SOOOO transparently hypocritical at 2 very similar evils. Sure mistakes have been made in Iraq, but the turncoat nature of the left leads me to say that China/ Tibet is not our problem, even if you want it changed right now how long would it be before you spit in the face of anyone that "freed Tibet" b/c they didn't do it in the exact manner that you invision? Let Tibet deal with their own damn problems if you want to continue to DEMAND retreat from Iraq.
Hypocrits...

It is surprising but also very fortunate that people were able to get these photographs - maybe China will try to conceal its oppression but the world cares and there are things WE can do about it...I'm still not sure how I feel about the olympics but I think I'm leaning towards a boycott...

@notsure - I want to see you try avoiding China made products. As for the protest, it was wrong doing on both sides, what was either side thinking?

Wow, intense photos. I wish more people could see stuff like this. Maybe it would convince them to do something about it. But so many people are happy to be oblivious about the world around them.

I agree..how terrible! The photos are strong evidence of a horrible incident. I am grateful for being able to view such atrocities, because it brings it home how much the tibetans are suffering.

Here's another photo. ADVAAZ announced towards the end of the demonstration that 1.4 million people had signed the petitions for a free Tibet, and that those petitions were to be taken over and submitted to the Chinese Embassy across the street, It was powerful, I wish I had captured it!!! May Duracel be Damned! lol

If you look through all the pictures you see mostly state violence on citizens. We see policemen in riot gear that resembles a suit of armor.
But we also see a few of the fire department putting out the fires the "peace" protesters started. One thing is for sure though, this did not need to happen. At least, not it the way it did.
