List of Hate Groups Per State

The Southern Poverty Law Center counted 888 active hate groups in the United States in 2007. Only organizations and their chapters known to be active during 2007 are included.

All hate groups have beliefs or practices that attack or malign an entire class of people, typically for their immutable characteristics.

This list was compiled using hate group publications and websites, citizen and law enforcement reports, field sources and news reports.

Hate group activities can include criminal acts, marches, rallies, speeches, meetings, leafleting or publishing. Websites appearing to be merely the work of a single individual, rather than the publication of a group, are not included in this list. Listing here does not imply a group advocates or engages in violence or other criminal activity.

    • My home state o' GA has 42. I may have accidentally bought a brownie at one of their bake sales once. White chocolate, of course.

      Alaska and Hawaii are nice and mellow...not that I'd expect anything more from those two.

      But damn...California!
      They even beat out Texas - beat them with a 2x4 and a lead pipe.

    • I find it interesting that there are so many organized hate groups, especially down here in Florida.

      Are there any Love groups out there? Any organizations that go around spreading love, as opposed to religion or twisted propaganda? Or is love not strong enough an emotion to devote all of our energy and time to spread?

      I'm going to start my own Love Group. I might have to find a better name, but our overall goal will be, to spread love with simple acts of kindness. Who wants in? Only good looking people allowed please.
