Yale senior 'induced abortions on herself' for art project

The goal in creating the art exhibition, Shvarts said, was to spark conversation and debate on the relationship between art and the human body. But her project has already provoked more than just debate, inciting, for instance, outcry at a forum for fellow senior art majors held last week
What do you think? Is this art? Or a cry for attention?

PS I am just as disgusted as most of you are with this story. This women shows a lack of respect for her life and that of her unborn children. Art is supposed to make us questions ourselves, and question the way we live, as stated before it is too provoke motion. Killing is NOT an art. It is murder. It cannot and should not be taken lightly.

Art's purpose is to provoke, but not everything that provokes is art, even if the creator says it is.
Would you agree with Bush if he says that the war on Iraq is a piece of art?

i can think of a million different ways to relate the human body and art, but i don't know how i should feel about this, art purpose is to provoke so with that in mind this IS art.
i can't avoid feel a little sick about this though.

NOT ART.
Onondaga Faith Keeper Oren Lyons says that one of the prophecies is "Watch the winds. When the winds accelerate, the earth deterioates. Another prophecy that goes along with that one is, "Watch how the people treat the children."
This is a sign of the total dehumanization and colonization of that woman's mind that she would pervert the life-making potential of her own body for attention from a totally upside down world that thinks humans can isolate themselves from the natural world.

Respect to this lady. Think of the countless experiences endured by millions of women, this is a noble subject worthy of discussion regardless of personal politics

Who continued to supply her with sperm to inseminate herself with?
There would certainly seem to be some deeper issues than art and the human body at play here. I hope she sees a good therapist and takes iron supplements because that's a lot of blood loss.

I think it's gross and she should find another way to express her creativity.
