Obama's pastor replies to critics

Reverend Jeremiah Wright, the former pastor of the US presidential hopeful Barack Obama, has hit back at critics of his fiery sermons.

In two speeches, to journalists and African-American activists, Mr Wright said that attacks on him were attacks on the black church.

And he said that his six years of service in the military was proof of his patriotism.

Senator Obama rejected Mr Wright's language in a speech last month.

    • LOL! This is not an ego trip. Wright should be allowed to defend himself. He didn't ask Fixed Noise to exploit 5 minutes of a 45 minute sermon to shine this much light on him. I think the pastor should exploit every opportunity to get his real message out to the same public in front whom he was maligned and derrided.

If that hurts Obama, as irrelevant to his campaign as all this is, Hillary deserves to win. That would imply that he gutlessly has no message of his own anyway. And, we all know that is not true.

    • Let it be known that the Clintonistas are responsible for this being in the news this long. Her lowness' supporters arranged his invitation to address the Press Corp, in an effort to divide and conquer the nomination through what is nothing short of overt racism in Shillary's low-ball effort to kick Obama in his nuts from behind in the polls once again.

Let's tell the truth and shame the devil. The Clintons are nothing if not power-starved, opportunitic pragmatists, willing to stop at nothing to get back into the White House. She's snuggled up with Pat Buchanan, Richard Mellon-Scaife, Rupert Murdock, Rush Limbaugh, and several right prayer circles in her effort to damage Obama. Her aim, if she can't game the DNC to illegitimately claim the nomination this year is to make Obama unelectable by any means she comes across. She claims she's just 'vetting' him now, in preparation for the Repunknicon assault in November. But, we all know better. When Obama wins, she knows her hopes of a Presidency are finished.

Getting back to Dr. Jeremiah Wright, the pastor was dragged back into the limelight after avoiding the press for weeks. Now everyone wants to hold Obama accountable for every word the man has uttered in defense of his service to his congregants. Everyone wants to some how force a connection of dots to Wright's ego, Barak's campaign, and Wright's sermons, when clearly there is none. It's Obama who is running for Office. Wright, as he has noted, is running for Jesus and teaches what Jesus taught. He is well within his rights to preach the Jesus message at all times, expecting the same public crucifiction Jesus got for confronting the Empire of this world He opposed.

Pastor Wright did not lie. This country was founded on terrorist occupation, global man theft, hegemony, and gross inequality that exists to this very day.
