The fact that they laughed at being ahead in Indiana, then said, Indiana is shit (that part isn't disputed)that if he indeed said how'd you like to be a white n*&^%@# than its likely this clips context is exactly as it seems. That is what Hoosier means in St. Louis, this wouldn't be coming from nowhere. To them and some dictionaries it means white trash, hillbilly, even subhuman, simply put a white version of the n word. I think the person in the video felt clever, relevatory, knowing this. He didn't care about the context or quite clearly the people of the State he was ahead in the polling for. I can't say that with any personal insight into the personality at hand but I can speak from personal experience, or being slighted for being a Hoosier, for living in Naptown, for living in a primarlily apalachian neighborhood, for having an apalachian branch to my family tree. The first headline I can recall revolving around my home was "The Hicks Beat the Knicks." Sadly the only surprise for me in this video is how easily I can relate to or believe this clip and how terrible how hollow I feel about that realization. I love my home state because its been derided, because I know a different picture than has been presented and because I know that when one abjectly dismisses any group of people or sets low expectations all they will do is be surprised when those glass ceilings are shattered. I feel that is exactly what is ocurring with the youth of this country and with the new voters within the State of Indiana, in Indiana Hoosier is all the stonger as a virtue of pride and identiy because it has carried a sense of derision at times. We love an underdog, we love an uphill climb, because we know what it means to be told you don't belong on the same field of play. He might as well have told me, "Prove me Wrong." Thats exactly what being a Hoosier means to me, someone who cares more about how they feel about themselves than how others feel about them. People who defy expectations almost as if just to say, I told you so. Ok, so perhaps I'm a bit overzelous but not many States have to put up with such baggage.

There seems to be a lot of controversy around this clip that it may or may not have been fabricated or altered from the original.
When somebody says the audio has been enhanced, I work in audio and video and enhanced can be a nice way of saying it has been altered.

Why was that expression used...What was going on? I agree... perplexing? I just can't know enough accept that the speaker likes to use the sh*t word... Sorry I still don't find any substance nor validity for snickering about Hillary Clinton in this regard... IT'S just plain static............................................................

It is from the war room. Acording to Pennabaker the quote is actualy "Indiana is Sh*t." not the rest. Even as such as a Hoosier I am not exactly thrilled with the comment.

Did you know Hillary was on with Travis Smiley? She is uninhibited!
What the heck, we can't know anything from that video... Huge difference than Wrights "Cracker Hate" social gospel..... and how old is that piece? If Obama had quit his church even two years ago, the wright thing would not have taken fire! It's about judgement... He'll grow into a better leader with maturity, I'm sure... I think he's a for real guy... just not seasoned enough yet!

Here's an active link - which looks as though it is dedicated to this video segment - all it's own.
Now, no one can say the version up on Youtube hasn't been doctored to eliminate the racial expletive. And personally, I don't believe the version available now is the same one I heard this morning.
The fact Kantor has gone to such extreme lengths at damage control shutting down every post of that video does suggest and validate the perception of authenticity, and accuracy.
If I were a strategist, I'd post another version so that all the subsequent "listeners" heard something different for damage control.

I looked at the original footage from the "War Room" on the internet. Clearly, the footage has been recut and manipulated. I still don't hear the racial expletive.
I also read what Kanter said about having never uttered the word in his life. I was brought up the same way. It's an ugly word. I believe Kanter.

Hillary has been burnt-up for a while. The media just hasn't been reporting it because Obama has vowed to continue investigating the Bush Administration when he is the President. The media has made her its pet and darling, even to the point of granting delusional viewers the false sense of nomination possibility. I'm interested in seeing if this gets the same 30-plus days of ink on the front pages of all the major papers that was granted to Pastor Jeremiah Wright, just for having once been Obama's pastor. These minions are Hillary's CURRENT surrogates filmed venting their frustration with voters they're pissed aren't voting for Hillary. Already even NPR has subtly moved away from carrying Hillary water every morning to now rumoring that Junior Bayh is courting to become Obama's running mate, with the former DNC chair moving from supporting Hillary to casting his lot with Obama. The comming weeks should be interesting.

No, It is not Hillary's fault. That said, neither was the preacher Obama's fault. I hope this gets as much press as the preacher did. Because I like fairness.

It's interesting just how powerful subtitling can be. The power of suggestion.
The way to find out what was actually said would be to find out what the editors of "The War Room" recall. The editors were Chris Hegedus, Erez Laufer and D.A. Pennebaker. Hegedus and Pennebaker were also the directors.

I agree jj. No candidate should be held responsible for some stupid comments made by some other person, even if that person is a long time friend and adviser. I mean just the idea of it is ridiculous.

Eventually, someone with the right technology will figure out indisputably what was actually said. Until then I hope no one makes a big deal out of it. Knowing the right wing - - it could very well be a plant to get the media and liberals all stirred up so they can come back and say how radical we are. Hey, call me paranoid but I put nothing past the right. However, IF THEY DO determine that's what he said for sure it will be a very big deal and should be looped until November!

The media will beat this thing to death.
Obama doesn't need to get his hands dirty on this one at all. He can refuse to even comment on it and rise above it. He'll look good for taking the high road and Hillary will (fortunately/unfortunately) get killed as this thing gets played and replayed.
And to think...she would have been reasonably SAFE from this type of media attack had she herself taken the high road on the whole Rev. Wright thing.
Karma?

Okay...I'm not trying to pre-judge either way. Just telling you my experience. Still hope Obama stays away. Gives him the chance to show how this kind of thing should be handled. I think we all know that if the situation were reversed and this were an Obama advisor, the Clinton campaign would have it on a 24 hour loop, and not think twice about whether it's real or not.

Krag, I have that video still. I had not closed it. I turned every thing off and turned it up. They said Indiana loud and clear, also white N****rs very plainly. This is not swiftboating. They did it. I wish I knew how to save it because I still have it.

It's not clear who he's referring to in that line...might be Indianans, he might mean the Bush people. No real way to know. But the article I read says that the next line was:
"How would you like to be in the White House right now?"
I can't tell from the movie, because as I said, it was inaudible. But I think that is at least plausible given the fact that he clearly knows he's on camera. I'm not defending anyone, but I think this kind of stuff (if it turns out to be false) is wrong, and the fact that it's damaging to the opponent of the person I support doesn't change that fact for me.

Careful. I think this might be doctored. I saw the original footage from the film and the youtube link that has been removed. At best the "white n***rs" comment is inaudible. The director has commented and says that it is not what he said. Let's not turn this into a swift boat situation before we know all the facts, and for God's sake Obama...please don't go anywhere near this. No matter what it turns out to be.

Apparently the video clip came right out of the movie the "War Room". I suppose they'll have to go and confiscate every single copy in existence to stop this from being spread around.
