Clinton: "we must win in November"

raheims
In a speech that sounded part victorious, and part reconciliatory, Hillary Clinton seemed a bit somber as she deliver her oratory to a crowd of supporters.

Over the last couple of weeks Clinton tried to take Obama to task on the gas tax issue while remaining subtle in any comments she gave about the Reverend Wright issue. However as the numbers come in on both contest, it is becoming more apparent that the tactics may have backfired.

    • I really think that Senator Clinton should break from the Democratic party and run independent. Obama really leaves a bad taste in my mouth, and I really don't want to vote Republican, but btw Obama and McCain, McCain may be the lesser of two evils, I feel.

    • Tribe, you do realize that the greatest presidents in the history of this country were inexperienced right?

I don't know what people think the President does, but it's not nearly as complex as it's made out to be.

Also, @ urkovs. I agree completely. I said speeches aren't ALL important. I didn't mean to say they weren't, they are VASTLY important. I just meant to say that it wasn't the only important thing a candidate does.

I didn't want to make the argument that because Hillary is a poor speaker that she's a poor candidate. That's why I said that. I only wanted to make the argument that what she says reveals how thick her skull and is and how undemocratic she is.

@ Patrick,. HURRRRRRR. I'm sorry you're offended by the truth. Maybe you've been watching too much tv "news." Seems to have affected your reasoning skills.

As for your Christian "insight," read your own damn book. "Render unto Caesar what Caesar's; and render unto God what is God's"

    • WE will win in Nov just as soon as SHE drops out and puts her support behind the next president of the US, Barack Obama, as she promised to do. Or was she tired and misspeaking - again?

    • Well, the same reasons you want Clinton are the same reasons I do not, and the reasons you do not want Obama are the reasons I do, so I guess that's where we're different.

    • the problem with Obama is that he is only a one year, junior senator, who if elected will never accomplish anything. He just hasn't been in DC long enough... He is a well spoken, telling the sheep what they want to hear kind of politician... Vote for Hillary and elect the first women President... She has clout, connections with the Republicans to get things done.... Plus it's the back door for 8 more years of Bill Clinton... Don't waste your vote on Obama, if obama wins the Dem Primary, McCain will be the next President... America just ain't ready...

    • Remember...John Edwards said he wasn't dropping out and then did so about a day later. I hope Hillary gets smart, retains her credibility, and drops out by Friday afternoon.

    • I really am becoming more and more convinced that IF IT DOES come to Clinton dropping out,.. I may very well vote McCain... I just really get bad vibes from Obama and don't trust him as far as I can throw him. I have my reasons and respect those that would vote for him; whatever is suppose to happen will happen,... but, I have to vote my heart, too.
Here's holding my breath and hoping Hillary stays!

    • I felt like this speech was written 10 minutes before she gave it after someone watched Obama speak. She looks down at the paper a lot and a lot of the talking points are almost word-for-word from what Obama said half an hour earlier. She also was clearly not enthused about the night's results.

i am not certain that the losing of the popular vote and the losing of the delegate distribution constitutes 'pushed out of the way.'

She really is putting the stale in stalemate (check out the link). Can we please focus on beating the Republicans and not each other?

    • I wonder if Hillary is aware that she looks pathetic to a little over half the democratic party? I wish she would just step down. This is getting hard to watch.

    • Its game over for Hillary. The only reason Obama wont get the nomination is because "certain people" dont want him running the country.

      Obama 08!

    • At the end of all this, either Barak, or however minimal the chance, Hillary will be the democratic nominee. Let's just make sure that we have a democratic white house this time around. After all, they are both from the same party.

    • i disagree, saladin.
If I am voting for someone to represent my country to the entire world, I want them to be a strong speaker. Look at all the Bushisms and calendars making fun of our doofus president right now. Makes us look like a bunch of idiots.

    • Saladin,

Yes I do think speeches can reveal disturbing things..such as Obama talking about his grandmother..using words I wouldn't use about mine...as a "Typical White Woman".

Talking to Pennsylvania voters as if in times of trouble all they do is cling to their guns and religion.

Now, I don't know about guns because I don't own one but I sure as heck know about my religion being a Catholic Christian.

And as a Catholic Chrisitian I know that God calls out to us to come to know him better. As we pray more and more we gain insight and receive grace from God.
It's also what all Christians are called to do.

Mr. Obama, should know this in his soul. He should know it so deeply that he wouldn't think of saying what he did.

So, why did he do it?

And why didn't his "crack" team of advisors recommend that he change his language?

Sorry, but there are too many questions that bother me with this guy, far to many to let myself vote for him.

    • Um, why is she acting like it's over? Not even close.

This speech was terrible as well. I understand that this wasn't suppose to be a speech like the (fantastic) one Obama gave in March, but she's a very poor public speaker compared to him.

Not that it's all important to be an excellent speaker, but I think her speeches reveal a disturbing image of her true character.

    • During this video Clinton appeals to the public by telling where you can locate her complete campaign on the internet. She also connects with the people expecially the common man by talking about problems such as gas prices and health insurance. She gave her speech in a way that made her seem like one of the people by talking about her pass and her experiences.
