US researchers say they have developed an effective way to kill unwanted plants and animals that hitch a ride in the ballast waters of cargo vessels.

    • yes, mutation can be a problem. dont f*ck with radiation, radiation will f*cking kill you, haha. with the amount of radio waves, unorganic unhealthy food and mobiles and
      microwaves its no wonder cancers rolling round our planet like the flu. apart from that im sure all the nuclear weapons testing didn't help.

    • Its good that we are thinking of new ways to improve on what where already doing, and especially something like this. But I'm not sure I like the idea of using Microwave Radiation. I mean look at what is happening to the Bee populations that is thought to a cur because of the radiation given off at cell phone towers. And if a few animals survive and escape can mutation be a problem?

    • We have seen widespread damage from the practice of dumping balast and sluicing tanks globally, this will help eliminate some of the potential risk.
