An Open Letter to Hillary Clinton explaining backing Barack Obama

Hello Hillary Rodham Clinton,

I would just like to take the time and explain my current decision to leave the Clinton camp and embrace Obama.

I am a gay citizen, and for the longest time I really believed like most other gay citizens here in the US that you were the best for the nation. I really admire you and think you have tried hard to do what you believe in, especially regarding health care. However, you encourage DOMA, and you have only promised to repeal part of the act if you were to get elected as president. As so, this disagrees with my ethical viewpoint. You are treating me as a second class citizen along with the rest of the population of gay and lesbian american citizens. When news of the California supreme court decision came out in full rights of gay marriage, Barack Obama supported the decision with open arms as you stayed quite on the issue. I'm sorry to say after donating 800.00 dollars to you I will not be able to contribute or vote for you. Also, on your website you have no issues involving gay rights while Obama does service the needs of GLBT community on his website and addresses are issues. I do hope you the best ever, but I am going to campaign on part of Obama to be President since you do not really address gay issues or address problems in the way that Obama seems to address them. Obama has come out as a fresh voice, who is not pandering to the public for votes. I am sorry to say this because I have been one of your most loyola supporters in the chicago area. I also felt pressure as I saw your advertisements delivering fear tactics with a 3AM red phone alarm. This reminds me of President Bush and his war on terror to scare people into voting for him. Also, I forgave the fact that you voted for the war considering you were Senator for the state of NY when it happened. Hillary I respect you, a great deal, but you are a democrat, and I can not even really see where you stand on issues. I hope that you grow from this, and that maybe, if you are under Barack Obama as VP, you may grow into a even better leader by example. I believe you both on the same ticket would be the face of change together with his fresh ideas, and your healthcare together both of you may be unstoppable. An African American and a Woman on the same ticket shatters the establishment of White Male dominance. In conclusion Mrs. Clinton, I believe that you should quit the race, and Barack Obama should pick you as VP. We need to unite the Democratic party, and both of you will be unstoppable together. Lets heal the party, forgive and forget, and move on with new fresh ideas, and unity for all.

Always,
