Perot Charts » Charting Government Fiscal Irresponsibility

Hawkmang
Why this web site now? Because we are running out of time. The American people must wake up and face the reality that promises made in the past will soon bankrupt this nation...

"Ross Perot is the father of fiscal charts. PerotCharts.com will help Americans understand the serious fiscal challenges facing our nation. These new electronic charts will also serve to hold elected officials accountable while accelerating needed actions to help ensure that our collective future will be better than our past."
Hon. David M. Walker
President and CEO, Peter G. Peterson Foundation
Former U.S. Comptroller General (1998 - 2008)

    • plusaf, apologies for my 'gimme $30K' remark.

Though $30K would go a long way to help pay my daughter's college tuition. It would help me to not have to live, literally, paycheck to paycheck. I'm a single parent (daughter's father passed on 5-years ago as of March 8). She does receive SSI, but I've been putting that away in savings. It's just little ol' me and I'm barely making it.

I'm honestly glad you and your wife are seemingly getting by well enough.

I'm not a confrontational person (usually) and there's simply no sense in arguing with you. I'll not change your mind, nor will you change mine. And that's okay. It's part of what makes this country great. Though perhaps we do not agree [on some things], I appreciate your right to your own opinion, and myself to my own.

As for me making a point concerning impeachment, Mr. Kucinich did a swimming job of that, and surely much more eloquently than could I.

    • Yeah. I'm sniveling at $30K. It's money that should have gone to interests IN AMERICA, not to Big Oil, no bid contracts, and an unnecessary, indeed illegal, occupation of a country that posed us no threat.

Tell ya what, since $30K [$60K for you and your bride] seems to be no problem for you, why don't you two each give me $15K ... as I do not support the corrupt BushCo regime, nor should I have to support their criminal actions monetarily.

      Hmmm?

    • Plusaf, I love Robert Anson Heinlein. He is my all time favorite author. Now I understand a great deal more about your way of thinking.

I have been reading "Time enough for love" again after having read it as a teen. I have read every single book he has written and I have started to re read them again. My all time favorite book of his was "Stranger in a Strange Land."

Michael Valentine Smith...love the man from Mars. I wish I could think and speak in Martian, become indestructible and have his spark for mind reading and levitation.

My first Heinlein book was "The Moon is a Harsh Mistress." That was a hard read until I got the hang of the new English, after a while I couldn't even tell I was reading something different than proper English.

He is an amazing man to have such a vast knowledge of so many things. I have been using many of the notes from Lazarus Long's journals with friends, they are amazed sometimes at the wisdom in his words.

Thanks for all the time it must have taken you to share your information. I really do appreciate that you would take time out of your busy day to share your insights with me.

      Thank you.

    • 9.2-trillion in debt comes out to about $30,000 of debt for every person in America.

      Dispicable.

      I know I've said this a lot but ...

    • Plusaf, I appreciate your vigor and your vehemence.

When you refer to your laws, who made you lord and master?

I am sure you are very intelligent and you know a lot about international finance; or so you claim. I would love to see your stock portfolio on a graph or see your financial disclosures before I would consider you to be my economic guru.

In my opinion everyone in Washington should take a pay cut. Corporate Executive salaries, perks, options, earnings should be capped to a percentage of what the lowest person in the corporation earns.

Finally I think that every US Citizen should either incorporate themselves or all companies who want to do business in the United States should give a percentage of their stock to a mutual fund that should be owned by every US citizen as a stock holder.

Corporations are artificial people with special rights not afforded to ordinary citizens. It is time this sham is ended.

    • These charts show some very interesting things. For example it shows that Bill Clinton did some amazing things during his presidency.

It also shows that Corporations do not pay their fair share of taxes in this country considering that Defense spending is $549 Billion while Corporations pay only $308 Billion in taxes. These Corporations should be taxed sufficiently for the revenue from corporate taxes equal or exceed the Defense budget. I say this because the Corporations benefit the most from the massive Defense spending.

Entitlements should not be touched, but a modifier should be introduced into benefit equations taking into consideration the longer life spans of beneficiaries. This could help to mediate the increases of spending on entitlements due to baby boomers retirements.

What Ross Perot is suggesting is that America should break it's promises to its people so that corporations can pay even less taxes. Individual income earners are still paying the Lions share of the taxes collected. These are the common folk who work very hard for their money. Corporations are getting away with murder; literally.

Ha ha! Yeah, I totally agree that the "family values" statements should have been left out. Injecting his personal beliefs in the discussion only takes away from the seriousness of the topic. Hopefully they take your advice on the GNP comparisons. That's a good idea. I'd like to see that Grandfather Economic Report site by Michael Hodges grow into something like this Perot presentation. I know the data is a little overwhelming but I think if it was done right it would be a real shocker for people.
