Filter systems need to be more affordable...then everyone could have one.

I like rain water...it's good to drink, bathe, and wash hair...so soft...but also must be filtered now days...

My concern with the growth of the bottled water industry, aside from the huge carbon footprint it generates, is that we are being conditioned to pay for something we have always considered a right. Little by little, drinking water is becoming a commodity and eventually it will be traded as a future, like oil, pork bellies, corn, etc. Unacceptable eh?

Just get a water filter for your tap. You buy it once, and you can use as many times as you need, and with no need for plastic! You can even feed your pets clean filtered water!

And the bottles are not, by and large, recycled, resulting in massive amounts of litter.

Of course the Pentagon refusing to abide by EPA demands that they clean up their messes, which are threatening to contaminate aquifers nationwide, may have an impact on tap water.

This is a hard topic to comment on since I do agree that "filtered" water is better than tap water. Even still, paying 2-3 bucks for a bottle of water is just stupid and wasteful.

Now if you don't believe me about filtered water. Take a Chlorine Pool Test kit. Fill a glass with water from any household tap. Drop 2 drops from the test kit into the glass, then measure the results with the color legend on the back of the box of the test kit. I have done this test in every state I have lived in (seven so far). It's truly disgusting how much chlorine is in the water. What's worse is that you may not drink it, but you bathe in it every day. Chlorine kills your immune system.

I don't buy bottled water unless I am without my personal water bottle that I fill with my own filtered tap water. This is usually if I am on the road and i have finished mine (rare).

If you want to improve your quality of life, and see the results in a matter of days on your skin and hair. I highly recommend buying a counter top filter and a shower filter. Take it from me, you won't be disappointed. And you won't be giving cash to these bastards that charge 2-3 dollars for a bottle of water and advertising.

Good secondary use of plastic bottles is to cut them in half. Use top half turned upside down for funnels. Use bottom half to fill water and food bowls for pets, water plants, plant tomatoes, etc.

Better secondary use of plastic bottles is to gather thousands, have the neighbor kids fill them with sand and build beautiful bottle houses for single mothers and families living in poverty and substandard housing in our communities.

sometimes it is hard to do but it is a good and important goal. I keep some as emergency backup around the house and car but need to do more and more from a reusable bottle..Maine has beautiful water.
