Zimbabwe Un-Elections

clemwilson
The Zimbabwe elections are over but the political discourse seems to have just begun. The White House has joined many other countries around the world in voicing a negative response to the so-called democratic elections.

    • I feel for the people of Zimbabwe. That's how it is in the Philippines during the election season. These traditional politicians will do everything in their power to remain in power. Guns, goons and gold. And with intimidation, you have yourself a winner.

    • I America goes to Zimbabwe and free the people there, there will be some retribution being different factions, tribe etc.

      It will be a mess

Within a month currentists will scream on this website of occupation and accuse the US of everything under the sun.

We will become the one accused daily of crime against humanity by the US media

America is not an eagle any more just a chicken

It is a sad 4th of July

what i meant is that the international community needs get involved not necessarily the US but mostly the UN and the first thing to be done is by arresting this man and charge him with crimes against humanity just like the lady said.

    • It is incredible how the whole world can stand by and watch this happen and all the African Union summit says is it 'fell short' of standard?? Fell short? Why not bar the man from entering?
Is the UN scared of all-out war with Mugabe's Zimbabwe?
How does the US start a war with Iraq, on the wings of a flurry of lies, to dis-empower a dictator, and then sit by and not do anything about this outright crime against humanity?
Thank God for Current TV and independent journalism getting organized, by the way.

    • This has been going on for 28 years. Does any body care ?

So many americans do not care about people in Iraq either. They have undermine relentlessly our own soldiers day after day

What would they care about people in Zimbabwe beside
      empty words of false indignation.

This tyrant can sleep tight. The UN is his best protector.

    • I am an immigrant from Kenya and I know how the politics in most African countries work. This is another case of an African leader clinging to power for to long and denying the obvious. Their is no doubt that he stole the presidency, but now the world has to act; just as they did when my country was facing the same problem. The UN and AU (African Union) should put more pressure on Mugabe and stop this endless election rigging in Africa. The people of Zimbabwe are suffering and this nonsense has to STOP!

    • Amazing POD! I believe majority of people are hoping that Africa's politics come clear.

It will be their choice to adapt to Western Culture...personally I hope not but they will need to stand for their rights and beliefs.

just a point of clarification, i think that when he said 'adopt to western culture' ,what is meant by that is a clean democratic election, like most western countries.
