Bullet Trains could be coming to California

If voters in November back a $9.95 billion bond to launch the $40 billion system, bullet trains will be built connecting San Francisco to Los Angeles.

Cities that would be along the train ride include San Jose, Merced, Fresno, Bakersfield and others along the Central Valley.

In the future, extensions can be built to connect Los Angeles to San Diego, and Merced to Sacramento.

California's current outdated train system is relatively slow. Trips by car tend to be significantly faster than riding the Amtrak.

To Californians: Would you utilize a bullet train system like this one? If yes, is it because of the high price of gas, accessibility, or comfort of riding a train?

    • I would love if they rolled this out. I love the comfort of Amtrack, but it is SO SLOW. Would definitely take this from SF to LA if I could.

    • I ride the train now from the one end of cal trains to another. There are actually a lot of people that ride the 2 hour commute with me, and we are all still baffled why they haven't offered more options for us. We only get three trains to go north in the morning and three trains to go south in the evenings. There are no other options and if you miss your train it is an $80 cab fair and an hours worth of traffic to look forward to.
For me I ride the train because it is easier, less stressful, allows me to continue working, and saves on gas/parking money. From talking with other people who live in the south bay but drive to the north bay because there isn't enough options in times to get to and from.
