Two in a million: twins born - one black, one white

Doctors say it is an extremely rare occurrence, but it is possible if genes combine in a certain way. The twin boys, named Ryan and Leo, are the offspring of a mixed-race couple.

    • Actually they would be half German and half Ghanan (not sure if that is the right term). blk white issues??? more like culture issues and its up to the parents & family 2 make sure they know they dont have to pick sides and they are the best of both worlds...its the society around them that makes them choose a side by bringing up differences...

hey shadowtrekker isnt it funny that this article was on Fox.com ..lol big surprise....

    • Wow now...I really hope these parents are going to keep a watchful eye on these boys because this screams identity crises all over.........Who do you identify with !?

i'm guessing they'll identify with their parents who look just like them. or their brother who looks exactly like them except with a different hue. and i'm sure they have family members and community members who look just like them

why do you have to identify with someone anyway? why can't you be yourself?

there is no problem being yourself. You are right. This is different from kids who are mixed. But I still think the dynamics in this family are going to have to be enforced early. The black brother calling out the white kid and the white kid calling out the brother. This is a psychological issue. If and I emphasis "if"..the parents do not raise these kids with extra attention you might end up seeing lifelong identity issues and deep feelings of isolation. Could become a tumultuous household. \\

Once again it is different from being a mixed kid but there still might be issues. these are all hypotheticals.

Ps: i am not a bigot but I strongly believe that races shouldn't mix. I don't mind when other races would rather marry their own. Its a good thing. The kids are the ones who have to deal with our color conscious society.

what do you mean it would be different if they were mixed kids? they are mixed kids. i have cousins who are all mixed, one (the youngest) is very light like me or their mother while the older two are darker than their father. so far none of them are having any "identity crisis."

i don't know what you're talking about when you say "the dynamics of the family" so if you could please explain more that would be great. also the whole brother calling out the brother thing.

and it's ridiculous to say races shouldn't mix. there are very few people who even have the same exact race (aside from some indigenous who have limited contact with the outside world). i'm sure you are not 100% black from the same exact tribe in africa. if you're american then you're definitely not 100% african at all. if that's the case then i would be celibate for the rest of my life searching for a german, bajan, american black, (i'd have to also figure out what tribe i came from) and slightly native american (another tribe i would have to look for) spouse.

by definition you are a bigot. people like you make this a color conscious society. why shouldn't two races mix? what's the difference between races?
