A group of 22 MPs have called for the traditional oath of allegiance, in which they must "swear by almighty god that I will be faithful and bear true allegiances to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth."

The group is led by Liberal Democrat MP Norman Baker, who says that an MP's principal duty should be to the electorate.
