For months, tension has been rising in the Georgian breakaway region of South Ossetia on Russia's southern border. Late Thursday, the tension erupted into war, when Georgian ground forces, reinforced from the air, attacked separatist troops in an effort to re-establish control of the tiny region. Intense fighting has continued into Friday and there are reports of 15 civilian deaths, along with casualties among Russian peacekeepers stationed in the region.
Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili said Friday that his army had "freed" parts of the South Ossetian capital Tskhinvali. His prime minister, Lado Gurgenidze, said the offensive would continue until a "durable peace" had been established. A Georgian military leader said on TV that the operation aimed at "establishing a constitutional order in the region."
With Russia backing the South Ossetians, however, the violence threatens to become a larger regional war. Georgia has long said Russian "peacekeepers" stationed in South Ossetia were unwelcome. On Friday the Interior Ministry in Tbilisi claimed that three Russian jets flew into Georgian airspace and dropped bombs on the Georgian side of South Ossetia's border. Saakashvili said that several Georgian villages had been hit.
"A full-scale aggression has been launched against Georgia," Saakashvili said in a televised address. "Georgia will not yield its territory or renounce its freedom."

Quite an interesting take on things!! The Russian system has not changed! It's government is just as psycho as the last "workers paradise" regimes. The US Powers that Be as they are called are We The People. And We typically look at Russia for what it is, the heart of the Soviet Union. Nice Job Putin!! You and the rest of your Vodka cronnies are just diggin up old troubles again while the world is busy watching elsewhere! Time to crak out the Orwell books. Here we go again!!!

PershingII:
There is no democracy in the US and your We the People is nothing more than people being raised as blinded livestock.
Russia is finally helping the Southern Ossetians! The Georgian forces used surface to surface rockets on an entire city of 100,000 people. At least 2000 were killed by that illegal atrocity against humanity before the Russians came in to help. Thousands more are still trapped in basements under rubble. Georgian snipers won't let anyone work to collect bodies let alone dig out basements. Georgian Special Forces are throwing grenades into all the basements they can to kill the civillians. They have orders to kill all, even all the women and children and they have been entering houses and executing the children and women at point blank for days! The road out is under fire and they know well that they are firing on women and children trying to leave! Orders from Bush!
Russians started attacking after only a dozen peacekeepers had been killed? Pure lies and typical BS! Thousands were already dead by a genocidal attack with rocket systems on an entire city! An attack designed in Washington to provocate Russia into a war it cannot refuse for the sake of some elections in the US!
I know there are alot of Republican sympathizers that are ready to justify anything for the sake of US global influence and different strategies. Lies, disinformation, assasination, even imprisoning the masses in the US is not too far flung for the "establishment sympathizers".
Just wait til the day when we Americans will be forced to take it to the streets again, but not like the 60's with peace and love but real open civil war! Love your enemies even when you have to open fire on them. I always do!

Southern Ossetia and Abkhazia have never ever been a part of Georgia and hold no historical, cultural or luinguistical links. Georgia did not exist as a country in the Soviet Union, the inclusion of part of Ossetia and Abkhazia into Georgia (1930's) was for the purpose of more easily distributing central Soviet resources. Georgia was not a country then and Ossetia and Abkhazia never have been and never will be a part of Georgia. Ethnic strife however is a very valuable asset for political manipulations-to the twisted evil US powers that be!
Unfortunately even the most progressive of people are not seeing the forest through the trees. Georgia was converted into an American satellite and instrument for provocation as far back as during Gorbachev's time. Ghamzakurdia, Shevuardnadze and Saakhashvili were all employed and controlled by the "Powers that be" in the US. Georgia offers little interest as a corridor for transporting oil and Southern Ossetia and Abkhazia in no way offer any threat to that transport. You are being dumbed down by stories of oil here. Southern Ossetia and Abkhazia have never ever been a part of Georgia throughout history (Abkhazia was occupied by Georgian Roman Catholic expansionists about a thousand years ago for a short period). Less than 2% of Southern Ossetia is Georgians(moved in by force in the 1920's). Georgia opened fire on the city and leveled it in just days. 1600 bodies so far, but the streets are still littered with bodies because Georgian snipers didn't allow anyone to collect the dead. Was this not a blatant act of ethnic purging?
This is obviously a pre-election manipulation because Saakhashvili does nothing without closely following his orders from US powers that be! Is this a Bush pre-election attempt to get more Republican votes for his heir McCain by provocating Russia to intervene? Or is this an attempt to drive a wedge between an upcoming progressive American president and the progressive Russian President? Obviously it was a crime commited by the US Powers that be! In an attempt to manipulate your brains with manipulated versions of their new synthesized stream of negative events! Welcome to Domestic US Psyops, the US war against it's own people's minds!
Please consider my simple and humble attempt to shed light on this situation:
