A young deer that had been abandoned by his mother has forged an extraordinary relationship with a pack of fox hounds that have accepted him as part of their 'family'.
When the pack found the deer shivering on huntsman Adrian Thompson's grounds just hours after he had been born, the dogs immediately accepted the animal. Since then, the 10-week-old deer called Bam Bam has become a loyal follower of huntsman Adrian Thompson, 42, and his pack of 60 hounds.
Mr Thompson said: "Now Bam Bam thinks he's a Fox Hound because they all treat him like one of their own. He won't be going on any hunts though - he doesn't have the stamina for it."
Mr Thompson's wife, Karen, 41, stated: "Bam Bam seems most content when he's ambling along with the hounds. He's about the same size as them now so he fits in perfectly and walks along with the pack like they're his brothers and sisters."
Bam Bam will stay with the Thompson family until they rehome him at some point next year in a private park where he will be able to join a herd and finally learn how to be a deer.

This is one of the strangest liaisons I've ever heard of...instead of tearing apart the baby deer (as they are wont to do), the pack of hounds immediately accepted it. Wow. So world peace is possible. Never give up.
