WHAT IS COURAGE...???

Courage to me is...

An 11 year old girl calling 911 and performing CPR on her dad after his heart stops beating while playing video games this past Friday night.
She did CPR on him until the ambulance arrived almost 40 minutes later. She did this while keeping her ten and six year old sisters calm.

Although his heart was not beating when the ambulance arrived, they were able to revive him and there is no brain damage due to the courage of one very brave little girl.

That is courage to me.

That is my little girl.

Courage is looking in your childs eyes and promising that you'll protect them despite the crazy world we live in.
Courage is leaving your child with someone else so that you can go to work so that you can.
Courage is allowing yourself to love again after being beaten, emotionally, physically, verbally by someone you thought you loved, or maybe truly did...
Courage is waking up each morning prepared to fight those people or things that challenge you.
Courage is falling asleep with the intention of doing it all again tomorrow.
Courage is speaking your mind about things that people don't understand, don't want to understand, or understand, but stand ready to fight against you.
Courage is a soldier, young or old, holding the ones he loves one last time before stepping on a bus that will take him to an airport, to a plane, which will take him to a war that he may or may not believe, so that he can stand tall in the face of his enemy, and protect a country that he loves, for his family, and for families he will never meet.
And courage is the family of the soldier, holding him/her one last time, before he/she gets on the bus, telling him/her all the things that they want to say, just in case this is the last time they can. It's accepting that this truly could be the last time... for anything...ever.....

What about the courage to forgive, to admit you're wrong, to understand others. The courage to swim up stream. To ask the stupid questions and speak up even if you feel foolish.

I just want to thank all of you for your words. They mean alot ot me..because it is hard to find, this courage. I know now that there are those who really do know the meaning, and courage does have many faces. Stand tall all of you; for in you is a belief that we all can be better in everything that we do or try to accomplish!!! Thank-you.

Courage is that which allows us to face our fears and sometimes overcome them. During the first world war men lay in fear in the trenches for days, weeks and sometimes for months but when the time came they went over the top many to certain death.

It is the Bravest of men who stand TALL in the face of fear and danger!!!!!!

Courage is only defined by you and one else by you..i define this as sheer will power to do the thing you believe is right..

Courage to me is the question that is asked instead of held inside.

It is the ability to see the world with your own eyes and not of those others.

It is the understanding of those who differ from you, and how you find a way to accept them as brothers, sisters, and fellow travelers.

And, finally, it is the understanding of your imperfections, and how they make you a better, stronger, individual.
