It is and has always been in the interest of the US, no matter who presides in it, to support a strong military in order to maintain the supply of the markets in a "healthy state". For Americans that means, "we(the US Govt) are fighting the good fight to maintain your freedoms"...to shop and consume whatever its needed so the economy of the US is in top shape. (and all the global implications) Having said that, It is important to note that by electing Obama things are not going to change overnight, there are the shareholders of this big corp called the US, who own the presidency, and they simply will not sell their shares quietly. However there lies the power of the people (if they choose to NOT spend their whole time at WallMart) to support and change local policies that will eventually make the world a bit more balance and friendlier. (towards the US) Also NOT one of the so called experts in foreign policy in all the republican govts and few Democratic govts know what in the world is going on, they only get informed after the crap has hit the fan and it has been the custom to write policy after the facts.
McCain and its beautiful MILF de Jour are perfect example of how the republicans see the world right now. At least Obama choose to equate the facts by NOT saying or stating foreign policy when things are constantly happening around the planet. Also he has chosen to focus on the problems that pertain to the US rather then tell other countries what to do, IMHO because "be the change you want to see around the world".
I stated it here before, if you want to wave the PLANET goodbye, vote for McCain if you'd like to see the start of a massive change, and just maybe prolong our journey as human beings vote for Obama.

Interesting to watch and listen to.They are quite convincing in their views too.
Regarding the combination of Obama and Biden this is relative youth combined with experience. We should not start criticising this combo as only time alone will tell.We will soon see how their joint reaction will be as tothe military question. I just hope more common sense is forthcoming
However I strongly criticised GW prior to his being elected as president on his first term and even more and even more vociferously on his second.
Looking back I can only say "I told you so"
I believe there will be more republicans turning to Obama than democrats going over to the McCain gang
