Finally this is getting interesting, I think that he had no idea of what she was planning. But its not his fault that she is a "good secret keeper", as said in a letter by one of her followers. I really cant wait until they start the debates to see what lies the Republicans are going to come up with next.

drake_mallard and others with opinions that come from no where that is credible,
thought I would let you know that we are not in a republican government right now. Yes our president is but the fact is the house and senate make the laws that he has to follow, he can try vetoing any vote and a majority vote can again override that veto. Everyone so desperately wants change, but we already got it!!!!! When this country voted democrats into the house and senate in 2006!!! So to blame the republicans for our current downfall is ignorant at best! - 3 years ago

That's all they do is tuck and lie... Bush's people are running the GOP in all areas. Why can't they figure this out. I remember when being a reporter meant more than reading a script.. It meant digging for the truth, and than reporting it. There is no such thing as "The Free Press" any more.. May God save us from the GOP and ourselves...

I think the reason she didn't get an answer is that Campbell Brown made one mistake -- she asked Tucker Bounds that second question about the National Guard. He'd already spent several seconds not answering her first question (which I think was a legitimate one), changing the subject -- first talking about McCain, then talking about Obama. If she'd simply continued asking him to say why he thinks Palin is ready to be CIC, he might've run out of camouflages before the time was up. But when she asked him the second question, he got to use up a bunch of time not answering that one too -- and he knew this very well, which is why he has that smirk on his face as time runs out. But nice try, Campbell -- at least you never gave up before the clock ran out!! And to say that her questions were sexist 'over the line' is simply ridiculous -- another distraction from the truth, which is that Palin is NOT ready to be commander in chief.

They should let Campbell interview Palin directly and in the same fashion. Let them try to accuse her of being "sexist" then.

WOW, This reporter is right... The Gov. doesn't comand any National Guard, they can request their use in some areas. McCain's spokesman should know better... Wait, isn't this the same guy that made the statement this election isn't about Issuses...DUH!!!

With 48 responses I expected more from that interview. What was that? Sure he could have done better at answering the question but...what a dumb question...asking for a specific decision she made concerning the National Guard? We all know the only candidate with any sort of military experience is McCain. But again, what kind of answers are we looking for? Palin stands for many of the same issues as conservative America, that is why she is the VP, and yeah being a woman doesn't hurt the tickets chance at obtaining more women voters. Big deal, it's politics, and politcs have been all show since we started forming parties.
Are we to believe the Obama has more experience than Biden to be at the top of the ticket? Are we? Of course not. He's just more marketable. Palin is a very marketable VP for the Repubs.

I agree that asking that question of Obama is warranted. But so is asking it of Palin, or Biden, or McCain. And deflecting the answer as to whether Palin is qualfied onto Obama is as ridiculous when you do it, JJammer, as when Tucker Bounds does it.

Govenor Palin does not deploy Guard troops! The state guards have more Federal Authorities too answer as far as deployments. Now if a crisis with-in her state like a flood or quake happened. She would go too the Federal authorties and request X-Amount of troops for a Region or a city. She, has no-kind of exsperience or leadership roll's as far as the military or our world standings. she still has too comvence me that her and McCain are for a change, rather than keeping Bush- policy's in place for yet another 4 more yrs.

This is ridiculous when voting for the people meant to lead the country they should answer the peoples' questions so you know what your voting for. he's trying to dictate that people should vote solely on the personalities of the presidents and ignore the VP, who in fact is a very important part of the ballot and VPs have been known to hold office for a year or two. for example after JFK was assassinated Lyndon B. Johnson was an unelected President for two years.
There should be rules on dodging questions. its almost as though having interviews with these guys is pointless. - 3 years ago

this is such a dead on example of how the Republicans are running this campaign--indicative of how they would run the country too.
they have neither a platform nor basis for decisions that they are willing to share with the American people, and so the only thing they can come up with is to point the finger back at Obama. Their ability to actually address an issue is comparable to juveniles bickering on the playground
if they were to divulge their actual reasoning behind choosing Palin, most Americans would be appalled, so instead they counter with finger pointing and baseless accusations...pathetic

Over the line?!? Are you serious! She asked a simple question that Bounds couldn't answer. If that is "over the line" then there cannot be any serious discussions regarding issues in this campaign.
