Palin, a Republican who says abortion should be outlawed even in cases of rape or incest, thrust the hot-potato social issue into a campaign that had been focused on less inflammatory topics, such as the economy, energy and foreign policy.
Democratic candidate Sen. Barack Obama quickly began running radio ads in at least six key states denouncing McCain for being anti-choice. Abortion rights groups geared up for an all-out offensive against the McCain-Palin ticket, while -anti-abortion groups said Palin is "energizing" supporters who had been lukewarm toward McCain.

Go ahead undo Roe, then what, a women or young women who gets an abortion goes to jail for murder, is that what you want. Women are still going to get abortions just like they did when, our founding fathers were writing the constitution.

Roe should be overturned. This question does not belong in the Federal venue. The "right to privacy" that Roe is based on sat hitherto undiscovered for 200 years until the 1970's when it was discovered as implied. Under the Constitution this should be relegated to the states. Self governance. If one state wants to ban it and one wants to ok it that is the way ti should be. Frankly, this is a question that should be between the mother, father and the doctor.
I find it pitiful that many of the very people who stand up and say Roe is "settled law" find an implied right in the Constitution to be ok whereas an explicit right, such as the Second Amendment, is seen to be mallable and open to question. - 3 years ago
