    • OMG people the reason for such accelerated global warming is not from asthma inhalers or hairspray...it is from microwaves and Rf ...research the effects of radio frequencies on water and the signal from your cell phone or satellite signals beamed down piggy back microwaves to the earth ...this is the reason such melting is so accelerated...some fool said ...oh its the melting season ...duh and then when winter comes ...it'll all freeze right back to normal...duhh My god if we give the power to one more jackass we might as well just stop working and paying taxes...really wake up!!!! get mad and speak out>>>>Thanks Current!!!TWB

That asteroid was the size of the Yucatan peninsula and that is where it hit. It supposedly caused a "nuclear winter effect" that began the ice age.

What you fail to take into account is that mankind has already strip mined an area 12 times as big as that asteroid. We've already cleared more than that area through deforestation.

We've also done who knows what by sucking gazillions of cubic feet of gas, water and oil out of the earth's crust and I've got 600 out of a thousand acres in Texas that has had no grass growing on it for 30 years after they "fracked" a dozen wells with enough salt water to refill Lake Okechobee.

Surely you cannot sit in an average sized city in the dead of winter and experience 10 degree warmer temperatures than there are in the outlying hamlets and not think that 6.5 Billion people cannot impact the planet in a significant way.

Yeah I know the dinosaurs were big creatures but they didn't have cars, 50 gazillion miles of asphalt highways and coal-fired power plants.

    • @ darkhawk22:

OK, you're entitled to your opinion...

What I think though, is that since the Earth has never been so polluted, (because we're the fist humans to fuck it up this bad) it IS reaching a human tipping point.

That being said, regardless of your belief of human impact, do you not agree that we still HAVE to clean up our act?

If you say "it will fix itself/Jesus will save me" I'll probably throw up in my lap, FYI.

      Toodles...

    • The earth was a tropical environment, we know this from historical findings. An asteroid hit and then gee whiz the atmosphere was covered and thus the ice age. Oh wow it cleared and then it has started to become warm again. I just bet it continues due to little if any influence from us.

    • Once deniers were saying Global Warming didn't exist but now they've taken a page from the George Bush reasons for invading Iraq and said it does exist but it is not caused by man.

Next the deniers will retreat to the position that it was not ALL caused by man.

When it is too late, they will have lived a wealthy and corrupt life, leaving a scorched and dying planet in the wake of their greed.

They do not care even for the welfare of their own children and grandchildren. They are soul-less and hardened with only designs for their own power and comfort in the present.
