Erm, nice idea, seen better, including one where you steer with the Wii Nunchuk. But I'm with the collective here, it's a little pointless, I mean what is wrong with paddle power? Some say well it's an option for extended adventures, but it seems relatively useless in strong water conditions.

As a sea kayaker I prefer my own energy to that of electric or any other way. Now if I were in a shipping lane I might rethink my position but then my purpose of kayaking is to be with Orcas and other wildlife. My arms work just fine.

Don Starkell paddled from Saskatchewan to the Amazon river. (12000 miles) A motor would have failed within the first month. If you are going to be going that slow you'll want something to do anyhow so why not paddle?

What if it was arm powered?
Then you'd get a great upperbody workout!

Yes. It would be great if it were solar-powered. And it could be, easily.
