Calls rise among Republicans for Sarah Palin to step down from GOP ticket

Sarah Palin faces the biggest test of her month-old candidacy with this Thursday's vice presidential debate, but many Republicans are already convinced the Alaska governor is not ready for prime time - and may never be.
"It was fun while it lasted," conservative National Review columnist Kathleen Parker regretfully concluded last week. "But circumstances have changed since Palin was introduced as just a hockey mom with lipstick."
Those "circumstances," Parker and others are now saying, include not just the Wall Street meltdown - a crisis that seems to cry out for seasoned leadership - but also Palin's choppy, tenuous, even unintelligible answers to the few questions she has fielded on her own.
Palin's interview last week with CBS' Katie Couric is Exhibit A - a frightening glimpse, say fans and critics alike, into what happens when Palin is allowed to speak without a script.
"It's very important when you consider even national-security issues with Russia," she told Couric in explaining why being able to see Russia from Alaska should count as foreign policy experience on her résumé. "It is from Alaska that we send those out to make sure that an eye is being kept on this very powerful nation, Russia, because they are right next to, they are right next to our state."

Can anyone please tell me why they would vote for someone who has hardly no experience? Or how about why you would vote for someone just because of the way they look? (I'm talking about Obama & Palin). Why would you base an immensely important decision off of libido? You're not going to get to sleep with them just because you vote for them so why not actually make a proper decision and at lease come up with better reasons than "s/he looks hot". Honestly, they're both pretty disturbing to look at. I mean, Palin looks like she eats little boys for dinner. Just creepy.
Anyways, just please, use your rain and not your crotch when choosing the fate of the US and the rest of the world. You might think she's worth the vote just because of her face, but if you vote like that you could seriously find yourself enlisted and in the middle east.

Speaking as someone who isn't American, I have to tell you guys, no one else in the entire rest of the world can even believe she's on the ticket. What are you people, insane? She's not anywhere near ready to even be VP and there's a really good chance she will be leader of the most powerful nation on earth! Do you know how terrifying this is for the rest of the world? You guys have the nukes, tensions are mounting between you guys and Russia again (they also have nukes), and you've made the middle east an even bigger mess already, and now someone with this little experience might be in charge of dealing with all that. And you're all talking about voting for her because she's hot!
Please do us a favour America. Please give up your democracy. It's too big of a risk to the rest of the planet. You're not ready for it.

Fred4Justice? really---4 Justice--I would like to think you are joking and are really just being sarcastic.
I wish that was the case--however--doing much research on both candidates and polling people in my own community-here in the D.C.-Baltimore area I am VERY sad to say--you may be telling the honest truth of what you believe.
I had someone tell me yesterday that they were voting for Palin-McCain--because Palin shot a moose.
They were being dead serious.Another said they would not vote for Obama for fear of what it would do in the black community.
They feared a over reaction-feeling of entitlement to do as they please. As if law would not pertain to them anymore then whites or others since a black man would be president?! really??
They were also serious.
This ignorance is far reaching and extremly disturbing.
I fear for us all yet hope for the best.
Please everyone spread the word of the truth.
tell everyone you meet the facts.

As someone who will be voting Democrat, the last thing we want is Palin to step off the ticket. Her view of the world is extremely skewed in the wrong direction. All we need is McCain to hold onto Palin for another month, long enough for the rest of the country to realize what sort of out of touch team the Republican party has put forward. I have a feeling it won't be the Democrats crying over lost votes this time around.
For all those people that like her for her simple ways, you can follow her back to Alaska while the rest of us move forward into the 21st century.
...or go hang out with Bush on his ranch. There's another politician people voted for because of his "simple, hometown values." Look where that got us.

Ah,shucks ,lol
I'm very disappointed that the video
.Sarah Palin: 1984 Beauty Pageant Swimsuit Competition Video! didn't play,
Does Biden have a video or is his 1993 Super Bowl Hoax just in text only ,where they claim All men on Super Bowl Sunday act like line backers and attack and beat their spouses, which produced unconstitutional VAWA and false restraining orders on many who never commited any domestic violence, just hearsay was ok for the order to be given and a spouse removed from the home and their posterity.
. The youtube video is very enlightening. Are either party any different,,,
I read one time some comments about politicians so here goes,
“Politicians are like diapers. They both need changing regularly and for the same reason.” -
Anonymous“Everything is changing. People are taking their comedians seriously and the politicians as a joke.” - Will Rogers
“I have come to the conclusions that politics are too serious a matter to be left to the politicians.”-Charles de Gaulle quotes
“Politics: “Poli” a Latin word meaning “many”; and "tics" meaning “bloodsucking creatures”.”-

You think Sarah Palin is a super mom who has a knocked up 17 year old daughter, while Palin's views on pro-life are SO extreme it makes me want to crawl out of my skin...
Senator Clinton raises Chelsea after having her marriage tested over and over again with the whole world watching, Chelsea is a successful young woman with a bright future in front of her and an amazing education...
And Palin is more of a mother than Hilary WHY?

I was sorry Palin's understanding of important global scientific issues such as overpopulation, global warming, peak oil, were not showcased in the interview. It would have been interesting to find out where saw that picture of dinosaur and human footprints side by side. ok, it must be desperate times for the republicans. McCain, who is 72 years old, doesn't know what the internet is and is known for screaming at people when someone disagrees with him is being considered a good presidential option? Ok, all respect for the veteran status, but there are millions of veterans in this country. That DOES not make you a good president and is the best he has to offer or he wouldn't say that every 5 minutes. And Palin, the VP they are holding on to (since McCain might not make it full term) is an uneducated woman who doesn't even know where Russia is and whose main experience is leading a town of 9000 people. I've organized groups larger than that!!!! Half of my neighborhood is larger than that !!!
Like having one ignorant, irresponsible idiot in the White House was not enough.

Hey, my butt itches....... I think I will vote for _________. Well I put cream on it and now it is better; what am I to do?
She is well liked as a governor because she taxes the oil companies to death and gives it to her constituents. God forbid anyone else do it. She is a genius!
9. She shoots..........intellectual blanks!
Dude, if that is supermom, my mom just walked on water and told Christ where he was wrong.
As far as looking at a VP on TV........she couldn't even run the camera, and I certainly don't want to see her there.
I approve of her glasses although she can't seem to see anything......like the forest for the trees. And she hunts.....what a disgrace.
Fred, I see why you like her for her intellect, her looks, her motherly nurturing abilities, her accent and the fact that we all know she was picked for her credentials and not to sway women or folks who were pro Hillary. Wait a minute......I think I just crapped Bull in my pants.

It's amazing to hear fellow american's put their sexual attraction in front of the important standards we should have for our leaders. To overlook one's ignorance on the global (and local) stage, incompetence in her current job, and overall confused/fudged interviews is appalling. She is the worst thing to happen to America. Even worse than Bush.
She wants to make ALL birth control, ALL abortions (including when a woman's life is at risk) illegal, and she turned down funding to teenage parents (we all know they're rich like her kid), and a bill that would've helped find dead-beat fathers who hide out in Alaska. Pro-family? Yeah, right. Pro-agenda.
And a month before accepting the vice-president nomination, she didn't even know what it is that the vice-president does. She even made rape victims PAY for their rape kits.

It is Alaska, how hard do you have to work to have a high approval rating in a state with an extremely low population. Aside from Fred's reasons for liking Palin being two steps short of ignorant, I can find no reason to cast a vote for McCain/Palin and I am a card carrying Republican... even if I no longer live in the US [dual citizenship].
I watched the interview she did with Katie C. on the evening news and was simply shocked and how she carried herself post the brilliant speech she delivered during the RNC. I am convinced that McCain chose here only to sure up the female vote.

Fred - You are going to vote for her because she is hot, she shoots, you want to bang her, and her 17 year old pregnant kid is a sign of a good mother. Oh, and she is well liked in a state which is made up of mostly men who think with their little head, just like you...
You are exactly what is wrong with this country... voting for someone because they are clever and folksy. You sound as stupid as our current president, who was perceived as clever and folksy and got us into this mess, um... because ALL he is is clever and folksy.
Frickin idiots vote. That is the REAL porblem with America! We allow frickin idiots like this to vote!
Tell me sparky, how is this hot bulldog with lipstick going to help any single one of the crisis currently confounding our best experts? Is she gonna slam a beer and give them pesky national and international crisis a good folksy talkin to?
Frickin idiot!

Ninepounds6 that was a nice assumption of what fred4justice said. Its funny how all these liberals are ranting and totally bashing on anyone who has anything interesting to bring to the table. Your comment was maybe the stupidest thing ive read all day, and it makes you look like an idiot.

sorry conservative_nation. Fred4Justice made no point except that Palin looked great (XD) and that is part of the reason why he would vote for her. He brought nothing to the table to discuss. And your comment was one of the stupidest I've read as a member on current.

Kieth, bro, you are going to vote Obama, and I don't get it you don't need to explain, if I were in your shoes, I would too. I supported Obama in the primary mostly to block Hillary, and got to like him a lot, but lots of Men out there feel we dissed big time with the Biden VP chioce. It is bad enough that Obama's policy advisor is a staunch feminist, and the blue print that SHE wrote is the most feminist platform ever, pages of feminist propaganda about female victems, men perpetrators... the only thing in Obama's blueprint for men or fathers is a promise to increase child support.. Dude, you can support Obama without turning into total pink pansy and supporting Biden too.. You could be a man and try to work Obama from the inside, and try to out his femi-NJAZI policy advisor, and boot and boo Biden or at least walk out on Biden when he opens his big mouth.
What I like most about Palin may be that she doesn't try to get attention by screaming victem, as so many feminists do.. Palin just earned her popularity, and is regarded a very good leader by Alaska citizens, that is something very few policitians can say in this day and age.

REAL MEN HATE JOE BIDEN. And like most Washington Politicians, he is disliked and not trusted by most americans. Approval ratings for congress are much below Bush, at the 10 to 15% approval ratings.
Palin's approval rating in her home state of Alaska is 82%!!!
and she looks good, too!
