Go Viral: Stop the bailout or.... depression?

Vierotchka
Is it coming? If it happens, it will be because of what Congress DOES, not what it does NOT. WARNING: Buried in the draft revisions on The Banking Committee's web site is an obscure change to another law that allows The Fed to set bank reserves to ZERO! If this is done it gives banks infinite leverage and WILL ultimately result in the failure of our banking system.

CONGRESS and OUR GOVERNMENT GENERALLY are responsible for the credit lockup. See how and why, then MAKE THIS VIDEO GO VIRAL; we MUST stop the bailout.

      Oh well. right.
I guess I will just have to join some big corporation and become a CEO, so that way I will know my kids will never be hungry!

    • Everyone seems to act as if this is armageddon, honestly if it wasn't for the internet, because I don't have TV and only listen to the radio in my car, if I never looked at anything media related I'd never know the difference between the economy today and 10 years ago (age 11).

In the level of the citizen it really isn't that big of a deal, what matters is how people act upon such information and situation. Rather than being reactive they should be proactive and try to use the opportunity for their benefit.

Recession, depression, what does it matter a single point loss in the market is a recession, the only difference is how far and how long. But there is a difference between being in a recession and being psychotic; and right now everyone seems to be psychotic.

Bill pass or no pass the best thing a person can do is be prepared and educated to act upon what happens effectively. Let bush have his fun let him smash the real estate market, then some investor will come along and buy the white house after if falls into foreclosure for not paying it's own taxes.

That's all easy to say now while you have a roof over your head and three hot meals a day. Not everyone is so lucky. Only when the real life, in your face, consequences of these decisions become real to you does one understand their true importance. Maybe you're affluent enough that you haven't been directly affected. I don't know. But I assure you, it is a big deal to the people that have lost their homes, or have to decide whether they are going spend their last couple bucks to eat or buy gas to get to work for another day or two. This is not just something on TV and the internet, my grumbling stomach assures you.

As nightfall does not come all at once, neither does oppression. In both instances, there is a twilight when everything remains seemingly unchanged. And it is in such twilight that we all must be most aware of change in the air—however slight—lest we become unwitting victims of the darkness.—William O. Douglas, U.S. Supreme Court Justice

    • I would also like to say, that the way I am reading this ....

      BLANKET MARTIAL LAW RULE THROUGH

      MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 29TH

(and correct me if I am wrong)

This bill can get shoved through the House with no debate? Also we the people won't know what is in it either?

    • Here is an interesting side note:

The House of Representatives has enacted Martial Law Rule, it isn't the type most of us think of, this is part of their governing rules and this one has serious repercussions.

I am not exactly clear on how this was done.......

      BLANKET MARTIAL LAW RULE THROUGH

      MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 29TH

      Rules Wrap Up

      H. Res. ___ -- Waiving a requirement of clause 6(a) of rule XIII with respect to the consideration of certain resolutions reported from the Committee on Rules

Use of the martial law procedure would enable the Leadership to seek to round up the votes needed to pass the "bailout" bill before a full picture is available of what the bill does. House Members also may be asked to vote on the (fill in the blank bill) before they have the opportunity to understand fully what has been inserted into it.

This just goes to show you how far the infiltration of corporate facism has gone. These Republicans in this clip are really patriotic. Dennis Kucinich is a Patriot, he too is voicing the fact that this bailout is a robbery and the crisis is being manufactured by the administration.

This bailout will cause the depression that they are scaring us with.

Its the end of Democracy; the final subversion before Bush exits to his behind the scenes role.

    • The basic structure of the U.S. Economy is not sustainable!! The average American (and America as a country) spends more than it makes; consumes but does not produce; and borrows money that IT WILL NEVER PAY BACK!! That is the philosophy of a cancer cell that will reproduce, grow and ultimately kill the host.
In a death and dying model we are at the "bargaining stage".......soon we will come to come to our senses, face reality and accept our fate.

    • Ummmm, Yes, for those of us that live within our means....the only thing to do is let it all collapse. This bailout won't work anyway, It's only politicians trying to act like they're doing something...but they are going to make things worse by using my future income to play the stockmarket...because they're too stupid...and probably not living within their means....and we are stupid if we buy into this.
The world should be afraid, because when our economy falls...and its only a matter of time bailout or not, so does everyone else's because we are the biggest spenders and we will no longer be able to buy their stuff and keep their economies afloat. Too bad for those living beyond their means....

    • I agree,
This bailout is nothing but bad news for the American people.
Unfortunately I feel that the only thing that will really wake people up is a depression.
It is unreal how many people are not even aware of the state of the economy.
Only through great tribulation is enlightenment reached.
The great American awakening is about to unfold.

      Ride on!
