In an answer to questions about her foreign policy experience ahead of tonight's make-or-break vice presidential TV debate, her aides listed numerous contacts with foreign officials - including Sir Nigel.
However the meeting never occurred. Officials at the embassy swiftly contacted the McCain-Palin campaign to inform them of the discrepancy.

I just got off the phone with ambassador Sir Nigel Sheinwald and he told me that's this is not a big deal. In fact, he is an ardent supporter of the red-coated rebel reformer Straight Shootin' Sarah Palin!
You liberals must be SCARED to try to make this innocent misstatement seem like a lie!
(It really is fun pretending to be a Republican. I can see why Stephen Colbert does it)

I feel bad for Sarah Palin. I once met her and she was very smart. We talked all about Hamas, Russia, the US healthcare policy and the economy crisis.
Gah! Wait a second. Nope, different Sarah. My bad.

i understand its a slight misstep...but really does that mean she just copied the list of who attended the event and claim to have met with them? so what anytime she's in a room with someone, regardless of their interaction it counts as a foreign affairs meeting?

I agree people nit-pick on stupid things, but the bigger picture is that so many lies come from politics and campaigns that its hard to decide wich ones we should focus on. Bottom line is THEY ALL LIE TO GET ELECTED!!!!!! Nothing will change that untill we get full political reform, and citizens who care about the content of campaigns vs actual actions of the candidates.

It's not so much what she says or doesn't say but how she goes about saying or not saying it. It's a given that all politicians are lying in some way or another and we tend to applaud the ones that have a flair for it. Conversely, if you have a politician that can't spin herself out of a simple question she's going to catch some serious grief.
What would happen to a pitcher or quarter back that couldn't throw? What happens to comedians that aren't funny? We boo and heckle them in response. Palin is getting booed and heckled on a larger scale because she's failing on a larger stage. If she can't handle it she needs to come with better stuff or get out of the game.

"Never before in the US election history has so much been riding on a single vice presidential debate. "
EXACTLY what I continue to state. People are making a bigger deal out of this than is necessary let alone logical.
Anyone can justify any action...even making a VP more important than one of the nominees for President (along with his VP pick).
Who knew a woman was worth two men.
-----on a very side side note.....I know someone who lived in Alaska and he said he could see Russia from where he lived.
I think people make a big deal about every little thing that she has said....every thing.
I understand how that feels and understand that people don't care what you say as long as you say something they can mock.
Especially people here.

Along with all these foreign policy talks (Gov. of Alaska??? tell me which head of state would care) there's the issue of all those magazines she regularly read. Yeah right!
I hope the moderator tonight doesn't let her talk around the issues and asks her to clarify "specifically."

This is bizzare - its SPIN SPIN SPIN.
WHY?
Watch Obama about 2 years ago - he stumbled, he wasn't well informed. What did he do? He INFORMED himself. Now when he talks he seems to have a grasp of the issues, if not complete expertise in them.
I'm sure Sir Nigel would have been glad to meet with her. Then she could claim it and have it actually be true.

Lies, lies and more lies. But, being a Christian, she is an arbiter of morality. So, I guess lying (by Bush, Cheney, Rove, Palin, McCain, Rumsfeld, et al, all of whom are devout, espoused Evangelical Christians) is a moral act. Kids, pay attention: It is no longer immoral to lie or to manipulate people, as long as your goal is righteous. Does that idea ring a bell? "The end justifies the means." Memorize that!

Well, she is learning from the best. The people grooming her are all former and present White House aids.

BUT!!!!! As she said yesterday in a phone interview... she "offers a choice to the regular guy, Joe Six Pack".
What we need in a financial crisis, economic crises, and energy crises, two unwanted wars, and a world that is becoming increasingly hostile towards us... a president who appeals to "Joe Six Pack"...
I find it hard to believe that anyone still supports this woman.

Look to Freud for that one.
Red is a stimulus color.
Restaurants use it to arouse appetite and to some extent anxiety and haste. Fast foods aren't fast if you linger to enjoy them.
Red attracts attention. Hunters wear it. It is said to represent blood and sexuality. Nothing though about killing wildlife from helicopters.
But the larger point is that the public is mean to LOOK at Palin not listen to her.
Listening to her think on here feet - red or not - already has proved disastrous.
