    • Nope, what I posted here is facts and has nothing to do with Wikipedia. Trying to make me look wrong at any cost is what smacks of desperation, and of foolishness. I very seldom refer to Wikipedia, by the way, and I never post anything that I cannot back with incontrovertible evidence - unless I state that what I said is my opinion.

Switzerland does indeed have direct democracy. I didn't need Wikipedia or any other website to know this - I happen to live in Switzerland. On whose list of accomplishment is Switzerland not listed, and what does that have to do with anything?

As for staying on topic, you seldom do so and are in no position to criticize me on such.

      Grow up.

    • France's conservative parties are well left of America's Democrats. The elections in Iraq and Afghanistan are not free, they were imposed at gunpoint by the USA.

If you want to see a real, true democracy, look at Switzerland where there is direct democracy on issues and on representatives. There, the people are sovereign. What the USA has is just a fake democracy, a farce.

    • Pepe brings up an important point about Palin.
      "She didn't know."
Whatever the subject matter, this is a re-occuring theme for the governor and one that doesn't help McCain's campaign.
Biden applied common sense by leaving Palin to swim or sink on her own .
Gwen Ifill was somewhat of a letdown for letting Palin off the hook when Sarah suggested that she wasn't going to play by the rules of the debate or when she thought that the Vice-Presidency should have more Constiutional "leeway".
I would have asked the governor to be more specific in what she meant by that.

He's one of the greatest experts on Iraq and on the American economy - you should read his articles in Asia Times. He is considered to be one of the very best and most informed journalists in the world.
